Great place with nice food. Went for lunch on Wednesday, not too many peoples. It is nice to have lunch special with decent... quality of food. Had the wagyu bento and eel rice bowl. Wagyu is very juicy and rich beef taste. Side dishes that come with thewagyu are very good too. The eel rice comes with seaweed salad and miso soup. Eel is very good with the eel sauce with a touchof sea salt which out the taste of sea eel. Read more

I randomly came here on an occasion to explore this adorned place. Even though without a reservation, the host improvised me a... good seat during their happy hour. The food splashed my palate with orgasm in fresh and refreshing flavor. Their dipping soysauce has a very pleasant umami sweet that complemented well with the sashimi. Read more

Love the bentos at this place. Smoked salmon sushi was delicious too. Nice atmosphere, not crowded during lunch time. Will come... again next time. Read more

The food is so delicious, fresh, and high quality! It feels so clean and the restaurant was so clean and cozy, even on a Friday... night, which is great compared to other Japanese restaurants that are jam packed with people! It was actually reasonably priced(for a Japanese sushi restaurant in River Oaks District). I highly recommended them and I will most definitely come again!!???????? Read more

The atmosphere is really nice. Dessert, while small, is quite tasty. I really liked their matcha Montblanc (I think it's just... called a matcha cake on the menu). I was underwhelmed by their karaage and chicken sukiyaki udon. While the karaage is probablyauthentic, it is super fatty--like 50% fat. The udon had basically no flavor. It also took way too long to get my check when itwas basically empty: I was sitting there done probably 10min before I could get anyone's attention. I would probably come backfor dessert, but that's about it. Read more

First time at Zen and not impressed. The restaurant was fairly empty with just a handful of folks in there; however, the wine,... apps, sushi, etc took forever. The food was average quality although I was a big fan of the ceviche. I'd hate to see how longit takes to eat dinner if they were busy. Read more

The most under-rated japanese restaurant in Houston. It is the only place that reminds us of Japan. The staff is friendly and... the food is definitely worth the wait? Read more

Heard about these secret menu to-go sushi boxes and we had to try 'em. Super fresh and ridiculously tasty. Great for special... occasion dinners at home or just a Friday night. Loved the to-go box so much that we're definitely coming to dine-in when weget a chance. Presentation of the boxes were premium and the nigiri tasted even better. Read more
