These fantastic little coffee establishments are popping up everywhere! They\'re not all like Verbena though!!!!\n\nI earmarked... Verbena as a stop on my next visit to H-Town, and here we are. Let me just say, I\'m SUPER pumped about myexperience!!!\n\nFirst, the vibe is exceptionally chill, and you can almost feel it as you cross the threshold entering theshop.\n\nJake was the barista for my visit, and he was great in every sense! We struck up conversation and it just seemed toflow. He\'s quite knowledgeable (which can be rare, even in the \"specialty\" shops) so it was nice to talk \'shop\' withanother enthusiast.The espresso shot I ordered was on par, and one of the better ones I\'ve had in town.\n\nVerbena also has agreat selection of coffee they roast, along with other great roasters from different areas.\n\nI\'m not going to say I\'m aseasoned expert, but I do spend a lot of time in, around, and consuming coffee and knowledge. Verbena is one of the better shopsI\'ve visited in the U.S. Yes, in the nation! The best caramel flavor I\'ve ever tasted in a coffee so far...and I\'ve tasted a lot. They offer several house flavors but I... like the caramel the best. The space is pretty tight so if there\'s already a few people setting up shop, you\'re out ofluck.\nParking is pretty easy as it in a shopping center, but there are few spots right close to the building, so if it\'s busyyou might have to pass around the lot to find a place.\nNot a fan of the pastries. Vibe- This is a nice spot to study or work, I just wish there was more space inside. There?s a couple of chairs and tables ... outside.It?s pretty tight but a cute coffee shop nevertheless.\n\nCustomer service- Great, the baristas were veryfriendly!\n\nFood/drinks- I had a matcha latte with vanilla and lavender; I probably wouldn?t get it with lavender again but thedrink was tasty.\n\nParking- There?s parking in front of the shop, a decent amount. Nice coffee shop. Friendly staff. They did a great job making my quad shot cappuccino. Ample space for sitting and having a... chat or getting some work done. Bathrooms are clean. Plenty of parking. Service could be a bit quicker but that wasn\'t a hugeissue. Read more

Wow. So hard to find cute, hometown coffee spots in the Energy Corridor. Loving this cozy spot off Kirkwood and Memorial. Easy... location. Friendly staff. Great coffee. Down to earth. Good for quiet reading, email answering, waiting out traffic, studying,dates...\n\nThey offer roasting classes and brewing classes, they have a printer you can utilize, local art, a comfy leathercouch. They even have a little library in case you forgot a book.\n\nDon\'t let a strip mall fool you. It\'s the coffee shop youwere looking for. Read more
EDIT: They are good people, owner contacted me directly and cared about what I had to say. I will be going back!\n\nIt\'s a... good place in general, but the ladies working there wouldn\'t stop talking to each other super loud. It doesn\'t help if youhave to focus on studying. Pretty nice little spot! Well decorated with their own little roasters in-house. Plenty of neat art on the walls, and overall... the coffee and food were all good. Clean bathrooms and the plants looked healthy and well tended to. (It?s always kinda weirdwhen a coffee shop is full of dead plants lol.)\n\nI wish they had some savory food options, even if they were just somethingthey resold from a nearby shop.\n\nOverall, we enjoyed it and would be back!
