How disappointing. In Houston for a show, from Nacogdoches we chose The Pearl as our out-of-town restaurant experience, because... the menu looked SO good. First thing, the intersection they are at was filled with homeless people and police. Ok, it's thecity, it happens, and of course, you have to pay to park. It's 6 o'clock pm, I call, and the person who answers takes our order, then the phone is handed off to someone else who informs me that they have none of the things I've just ordered. They only havea limited selection from the bar menu. You know, chicken strips, etc. He blames the pandemic. Although no one else seems to behaving this problem on this scale. We end up going across town for a less elevated, yet quite good meal. Maybe he should havesaid they fed it all to the homeless before we got there. I don't know that I would have believed that, either, but at least itwould have been a noble sentiment. Read more

Stayed at the hotel this restaurant is located. Food was very satisfying. Glad we had tasty food and a bar right down stairs.... Servers and bartenders are very friendly. Read more

Wow Jeffrey is the best bar tender / host / and entertainer. We had several craft cocktails he made that were amazing. The up... sales on food were well worth it. My mouth is still watering. Jessica and I made friend with people at the bar and talkedforever with Jeffery right there taking care of us. Read more

Our 1st time. I had the shrimp and grits as my main dish with a side of fried oysters and some of the best brussel sprouts ever

Great place to meet up after work and dine and or have drinks. I ordered the NY strip steak and it was perfect. Full of flavor... and tender! I will definitely be back. Side note: the hotel adjacent to this restaurant is five star all the way.. Both areawesome choices to anyone looking to do it real nicely. Read more

I visited the bar for a quick dinner and a drink, it served food from the restaurant on the bar bites menu (posted outside the... bar). The drink was great and the food was delicious. In the morning I ate with my hotel stay free breakfast coupons andeverything was comped except the tip. The food was quick to come out and very tasty. Read more

Nice food - though the portions are too big, and prices are pretty high (hence 3 stars not 4). Food good though. Service very... OK. Atmosphere so-so, almost empty on Friday night. Sprouts were great. Fries - without pork, cheese and other over-the-topthings - were nice. Fried oysters were OK but could/should have been bit more spicy. Read more

We ate there recently during our stay at The Sam. We had dinner one evening in breakfast before morning. Breakfast was great. I... had the omelette and bacon as a side; my wife had migas and bacon. Overall, it was a wonderful way to start today. However, ourdinner the previous night was less than stellar. I had the jumbo lump crab corn chowder and the spare rib. My wife had thetomato salad and the scallops. Her scallops and pasta were good, but the tomato was grossly over ripe and very mushy. Mychowder was the best thing of the night. My short rib, spoetzel, and brussels sprouts were fine. The reason we chose to givethis three stars was the fact that our dinner was so salty it was barely edible. Her scallop dish and my short rib dish were sosalty we could barely eat them. Read more
