When I say I love this place!!\nThis is my go to spot when I don’t feel like cooking, and want a home cook meal, for me and my... boys. Everything tastes amazing, from the greens to the fried chicken, and those tinder oxtails. The Mac and cheese isdefinitely my favorite ???? hands down. The desserts, you better get there before they sale out, that’s how good they are. Irecommend the banana pudding, and the peach cobbler. Finally a place that has great SoulFood eats near my job!!! I was on Instagram and noticed a plate that my church friend posted,... so I had to inquire and try it for myself. I had the Cajun Baked Chicken, Greens, and Yams. The chicken was cooked perfectly andwas falling off the bone. The greens were cooked tender, presented an clean flavor and was not overly salty or bitter. The yamswere sweet, buttery, and savory….yes Lawd!!! This place is a hidden gem on the northwest side of Houston that deserves more than 5 stars. Tracy the owner is very welcoming &... treats you like family when you visit her establishment. She takes pride in making sure you\'re happy as a customer and you cantaste that her food is made with pure love....straight from the soul. I highly recommend her Mac n cheese, fried fish & peachcobbler. I suggest you get there early or pre-order as sometimes some of the popular items may sell out. Read more

Soul Y Mex Kitchen on Perry road just west of FM 249.\n\nTraditional Soul food menu with Oxtails, Turkey necks, Turkey wings,... smothered pork chops, fried chicken, meatloaf, and Cajun Breaded Chicken.\n\nSide vegetables included collard greens, macaroniand cheese, candy yams, cabbage, etc.\n\nEach meal is served with two sides and a slice of cornbread.\n\nThe food was verygood.\n\nService was a little slow, but that could be due to the number of orders they were processing.\n\nThe are locatedinside a convenience store and minimal signage visible from the street.\n\nGood food, I\'ll be back to try the Oxtails nextvisit. Let me tell you the food was great but the customer service was Superb! If I could give her more stars I would for that. I drove... to her location from a far based on reviews from a food group! I wasn\'t sure what to try, so I picked what the guy in front ofme ordered, fried pork chops. I\'m a very picky eater, but the owner offered me all kind of samples outside of my comfort zone.As I told her, you can have the best product in the world and horrible customer service and I would never return, in addition tothe great taste of her food she has Mastered Customer Service!! I will be back and recommend anyone reading this to do the same!I was so impressed, and trust me that takes a lot to do! The food to start is not only amazing but isn’t loaded with grease. This tastes like real southern cooking without skipping a... beat. Food isn’t overly salted and the portions are great.
