it was our first time here and our server Arnold was very helpful, he recommended their fresh strawberry lemonade so we got that... and a Thai tea, both were fresh and delicious. then I asked for his opinion because I was between getting pad thai and gettingpad kee mao (drunken noodles) and he recommended the latter so I got it and it was veryy flavourful, my partner got the redcurry with fish and it was rich and spicy. We had Pad See Ew and Drunken Noodles, the server didn’t ask us the spicy level and seemed disappointed at us somehow... ??????????? I guess because we didn’t order drink or appetizers, except only two noodles dishes, in spite of it was a dinneron 4th of July? I have no idea, I didn’t feel welcoming at all. So Songkran lost 1 point on its customer service. Both ofdishes were overcooked, noodles were not chewy as we expected. Technically, not authentic. 2 more points I took off because ofthis. Songkran is a wonderful display of Thai classics in an intimate environment. All of the expected elements of Thai food are... perfectly balanced and presented in an elegant format. I had the chicken satay to start with which was perfectly grilled andstill juicy. It was accompanied with a peanut sauce and refreshing vegetable medley. My main course, Bangkok Fish, was spicedto level 4 (highest). While being fairly hot, the other flavors of the dish were still present. The fish was covered in a tangychili basil sauce and accompanied by peppers, eggplant, and vegetables. Each ingredient was prepared perfectly and added to thedish. If you are in the mood for Thai cuisine and looking for a quick lunch or an intimate dinner, Songkran is definitely wortha stop. Read more
