The food was amazing and the vibes were unbeatable! Great views of Houston from the outside seating! Our waitress was super nice... the hostesses could do better especially when our reservation was messed up. Luckily it was a great evening to sit outside so wedidn’t let it ruin my friends birthday dinner. Overall would come back here again because the food and drinks are that good. Igot the pasta and it was packed full of seafood and chicken, the oxtails my friend got were full of flavor and delicious! Myother friend got the salmon and it was flakey and delicious too! If you need a good place to celebrate or have a date nightcheck them out! Read more

Unsure about the hype of this place. Food was mediocre at best. Chicken wings weren't super seasoned nor cooked well as asked. ... Almost weren't done in my opinion. Shrimp and grits was ok. Sauce was good but just as MULTIPLE people have said before theamount of food doesn't justify the price. 3 shrimp for a whole plate of grits??? Decent outside views if you sit out there.Music was good. Read more

We visited Prey on a Saturday night for dinner while visiting Houston. The hostess and sat us promptly by our reservation time.... Erin was our server and she was very knowledgeable about the menu items. We mostly ordered the Lazy Cat and it was a niceportion and great flavor. I also ordered the bread pudding which was bomb. Overall a great time and I will def visit again whenin Houston. Read more

I rarely give 5 stars because I can find something that wasn't right. This place deserves 10 stars. The atmosphere is so chill.... It's a little romantic too. Our server Noah was a treat. He was so friendly and knowledgeable. His great attitude was sorefreshing. He talked us into dessert which I almost never have. All 4 of us ordered something different and tasted each other'smeals. No one had a bad meal. Every dish was exceptional. It is true that you get what you pay for. We would do it again in aheartbeat. Treat yourself to this place when you are in Houston. It's worth the experience. I will dine here again when Ireturn. Read more

Me and my friends went to Prey for a birthday dinner. Our reservation was at 8:00pm but we wasn’t seated until 8:24 which is... why I only gave 4 stars. We was on time and we was expecting to be seated. After being seated we still waited a while for ourfood. Me and my friend wanted the steak but they only had one left so I decided to get the oxtails. The food was absolutelydelicious. The seasoning was good and it was nice and hot when they brought it out. I enjoyed the soft music candles and softatmosphere. I will definitely go back again. Try it if your Houston. Read more

The vibe was everything very inviting the drink was okay. But the 5 stars come from the bar staff Tiffany and Lauren they were... very tentative and the manager was friendly as well. We originally had a table for 4 but wasn't able to change to 5 so we askedfor an extra chair they were booked and wasn't able to find an additional chair so we decided to take our party to the bar. Welaughed and joked with the bar tenders and manager. We got recommendations and I decided on the surf and turf oxtails. That dishwas so flavorful the cabbage was good the oxtail were delicious and meaty yhe shrimp and that cream sauce was impeccable yamswere amazing just the right amount of sweetness. Then there was the bread pudding, definitely a shareable dish but it wasreally good. The price is a little steep. I think we all ended up spending $100 a piece but if it is in budget I say this is amust try! Read more

This is a Black-owned upscale dining experience. Our service was great! Ricky was attentive, she knowledgeable about the menu... and provided suggestions, we never had to wait to be provided refills. Now to the food, the food was fair esp for the price. Theportion sizes didn't fit the price/value on the menu. I've been to similar restaurants, and the food size at least fits theprice. The inside ambiance of the restaurant is where the vibe is. Outdoors is nice too because you have Uptown skyscrapers inthe background which is great for pictures. I wish they would put a sound system outside so the those that's seated outdoorscould hear some music. The drinks were mediocre. They were a little too sweet and couldn't taste much alcohol. FYI: thisrestaurant is NOT kid friendly. They do not have kid options. Although Ricky tried to accommodate as best as she could, therewas no luck. We ordered shrimp for our 7 year-old, and it was too spicy. The shrimp most likely is pre-packaged seasonedalready and not seasoned in-house. He only option was to share our pasta. In conclusion, I would recommend to visit Prey atleast once, but currently, it wouldn't be my go to for upscale dining. Read more
