We had the ribs and wings special; it was pricey but good. The ribs were tender and flavorful and the wings were as well.... Wasn?t very crowded and the staff was very friendly! They were out of baked potatoes ???? ???? the reason I went to Pappas BBQ. So I got instead a pulled pork plate with yams and... beans. I wasn't aware the beans would be a bit spicy ???? ????. The yams were different kinda big but the pulled pork was good.Next time if they're out of what I'm going there for I just won't substitute. Read more
I carpooled with my coworkers and enjoyed a chopped brisket sandwich for lunch. They have excellent sides to choose from plus... beer. I've been here before and I like the positive attitude and the warm welcome when I step inside. The whole place looksclean, even the bathroom smells good. Read more
I rode the park and ride today to work. I? stopped at Pappa?s barbecue on 1960 and Cali Drive. The drive-through light said... they were Open. The first door that I went to was locked. I was Able to get into the restaurant from the side door. When Ientered I observed At least seven people working, all of whom looked up at me but did not acknowledge me. Finally a Caucasianolder gentleman asked me if I had been helped and I responded no. He came over to tell me that the restaurant was not open thatI needed to go to the drive-through. I told him that I was not in a car. He called over a Hispanic female manager and they toldme they could not help me if I was not in a car. I walked around to the drive-through and demanded that she take my order. Thefemale manager said no and I told her that because they ignored me initially she was going to take my order or I would call thecorporate office. She took my order but she had an attitude! It cost NOTHING to be nice and to provide great customer service.It cost NOTHING to provide great customer service with a smile. The service that I received today was not up to Pappa?s standards. I got off the bus specifically to stop here for breakfast because I missed the stop for Chick Fil A. How was Isupposed to know that you could not walk in to place an order for breakfast?! Do better! You could learn a thing or two from theDowntown location. I ate there yesterday and received great service with a smile and the food was yummy! The bar-b-q here is very delicious. I ordered the house special. Which comes with beef, ham, sausage and a rib, plus 2 sides.... The smoked ham was very tasty and the pork spare rib was delightful. Their brisket smothered in bar-b-q sauce is so moist,tangy, and delicious. The mac and cheese is also something worth mentioning, it?s very good. The potato salad here is made toperfection and they give you a heaping serving of it too! They have a nice self serve condiment bar, and soda fountains for youto get your own refills. I was really impressed with my cheeseburger and fries! I LOVE a good cheeseburger, and this was definitely one of the best... burgers I've eaten personally! The beef was seasoned well, the bread was nice and soft, and the lettuce, pickles, and tomatoeswere so fresh! The burger was juicy like they should be, and the fries were really good too. I ordered Ribs,Chicken,Dirty Rice,Pasta Salad and Carrot Cake. Everything was delicious and fresh. Dirty Rice taste like it was... cooked next to the meat it was smoked and seasoned just right.Pasta Salad had the right amount of everything not overly seasonor too much dressing. Chicken was just perfect could be cause I love chicken but it was.Ribs tasted like heaven on a bonemoist,tender and sauce was impeccable. Last but not least the Carrot cake..... I?m extremely picky when it comes to carrot cakebut y?all got it right. This was a place where i would eat 2 to 3 times a week. Now I will not be returning. Last night I brought a meal after working... 12 hours. My chicken was raw. I was very upset but I tried to not be irrational. The next day i went back to the restaurant. Ishowed the manager a pic of the raw chicken. His response was " Was it juice or blood". I did not get an apology. I told him alli wanted was my meal replaced. I will not spend any of my time or money at this establishment anymore. Thanks for the memoriessay goodbye to the future.
