Reviews for Pappadeaux Seafood Kitchen in Houston, TX
Pappas restaurants tend to be pretty good, but Pappadeaux might be my favorite. Overall it's a great spot for Cajun and... Louisiana inspired food. Usually people go for birthdays or formal events. I like this location since it's in downtown and easyto get to from Discovery Green or the convention center. My recommended dishes are the blackened catfish or crawfish etouffee. Read more
The meal was great. A little pricey but the portions were fair. Service was great and the place was very nice. Staff was working... hard and the restaurant was buzzing full of people. Read more
Absolutely marvelous! They were able to easily accommodate our group of 18 with excellent service and seating. The food prices... are a little higher, BUt you get SO MUCH food! Make sure you save room for a piece of key lime pie. I suggest skippingappetizers. Ask for dessert to arrive at the same time as main course. Refills available at no charge. Wonderful service. A few friends and I decided to catch the train and eat at this Pappadeaux location on a Wednesday afternoon. When we arrived we... were told that there was a 45 minute wait and that we would get a text when our table was ready. We were unaware that aconvention had recently let out at GRB and the rockets were having a game so the restaurant was busy. 2 hours went by and westill had not received a message regarding our table. When we went to inquiry about our table, the hostess immediately sat us asif we had been forgotten about. This was very annoying because we wanted to walk around downtown after we ate but did not getthe chance to because it was dark when we finally left. I feel like they need a better system when it comes to waiting fortables because this is a small location and I am sure people always have to be placed on a waiting list. Besides the long wait, the food was delicious. The crab and spinach dip was my favorite part !! I was so good, I would definitely order it again. Thetrout was tasty and as always, I also got the vanilla cheesecake (not pictured) and it was good. Overall this was a nicelocation, I would just recommend calling to see how long the wait is before hand or not visiting when there is something goingon downtown. Also, be aware that this is a small location so they do have a limited menu. Read more
The blackened catfish-along with the rice and beans- is just delicious!!! 5 stars! My husband got the seafood and sausage gumbo... and he loved it also. The wait for a table was very long-like two hours- so we just ordered our food and ate it outside of therestaurant, on the patio. The to-go girl that took our order was great. She was very helpful, kind and patient even thoughthere was chaos all around with how many people that were there. She even brought us our food out on the patio. Hard for me to give less than 5 stars to any Pappadeaux, but there were some issues with the food that never should have... happened. We did enjoy ourselves and Princess at the bar was great. The service at the Pappas chains of restaurants is alwaysgreat. This location is connected to a convention center, so the prices are higher and the menu is limited. I still expected thefood to be as perfect as it always is at any other location. We will likely return, but have a little lower expectations. Oh!The alligator was the best I have ever had! Read more
6/27/2022 around 7PM I made a reservation here for a solo dinner. Upon entering, the hostess was pleasant, welcoming, and... greeted me. I decided to dine in at the bar since there was room. First time at Pappadeaux. My eyes were bigger than mystomach. I ordered a salad, crab dip, and the blackened catfish. Everything was delicious. The dip was loaded with equal partscrab meat, spinach, and cheese, and I could taste the flavors without anything being too overpowering. The salad was fresh withcrunchy crisp lettuce. The catfish and red beans, and rice were loaded with so much flavor and the right amount of spiciness. Iloved all of it, and I had plenty left over to take with me back to my hotel. The service was perfect. The price and the foodquality aligned. I can't wait to visit another location. I wish Pappadeaux would come to North Carolina. Everything was a 5 outof 5. One of the best dining and food experiences while in Houston. Shout out to the bartender who served me. I'm sorry, I don'tremember his name, but he was awesome! Read more
