Took a few friends out for the opening night and we couldn't have been happier with the outcome. Most restaurant openings you're... waiting hours for your food and even after waiting, it will be the wrong dish. Not here, it was an awesome meal with greatservice. The drink selection enhances the experience and leaves you wanting to try more. All of our party finished their mealsand for the most part finished their drinks. I wish I could remember the name of the sake we had but it came in a white bottle.Highly recommend it. My girlfriend had the Mady dish and she finished the entire dish. Safe to say she loved it. I had the antipoke and wish I could of had more. But I was too busy drinking the sake. We had a great experience and look forward to visitingthis restaurant again! Read more

This little part of the Conservatory is a delight. The aesthetic was modern and welcoming, and the service was cheerful and... engaging. The food was wonderful, I ordered the Cheesy Spam fries and the Mandy Special. Both were delicious, and I highlyrecommend it. Also the Manager Amy Nguyen was great to speak to and helped with any questions I had. Read more

The conservatory is a great place to hang out at. Parking is limited, but your food selection is wide. I chose to come to moku... to try their udon soups. The only time I've ever came here was for their spam masubi. Which is delicious but they raised up theprice to $4.33. great snack for when you're drunk, I'll tell you that. They have original or spicy, which basically is hotCheetos and spicy mayo flavored, but seriously pretty good. Esp if you were raised on spam like me. I ordered the shrimptempura miso. You get about 5 shrimp tempura with mushrooms and udon. Please order the tempura on the side, mine wasn't thatcrispy since it's been soaking in this hot broth. The soup was good, much more lighter than the beef broth. The udon noodles arenot really udon noodles which was disappointing but overall okay. I'd much rather go to Bellaire to get udon because at leastit's actual udon. The staff was nice, the service was fast, the prices were much. It was $10, which maybe isn't too bad for thearea. I'd give this place a 3.5. Read more

Decided to come here during lunch. Although there was a line, the wait was fairly quick. Basically you take one of the order... sheets, put your name on it and fill out the rest. You can choose from the preselected poke bowls or you can make your own. Igot the HTX, super delicious! The salmon/ tuna tasted fresh and everything in the bowl went perfectly together. I really likedthat the poke bowl wasn't 90% rice, you definitely got a good amount of seafood for the price. Will definitely be back to trymore. Read more

Moku Bar recently replaced Samurai Noodle in the Conservatory, Houston's underground beer garden and food hall, in March 2017. ... When I arrived, I was told to pick up a metal tray with a paper menu and pencil and fill out what I wanted to order. I decidedto go with the Mady's Special on sushi rice for $9. This consisted of spicy salmon, avocado, cucumbers, masago, unagi sauce, fried onions, furikake, and shrimp chips. The service was friendly, and they completed my group's order fairly quickly. One ofmy friends, who went to school in Hawaii and knows Hawaiian cuisine quite well, told me the poke here is pretty authentic. Thefish looks like it's well marinated and doesn't leave a watery mess on the bottom of the bowl, which is something my friendreally looked out for. Cool, I guess I trust his judgement. I thought my Mady's Special order tasted okay though. Maybe I'm anoob and ordered the wrong thing, but I didn't feel the salmon was that fresh. It's not a bad place, but it's just notsomewhere I would go out of my way for. Next time I'm in the area, I may try something else on their menu... or maybe eatsomewhere else in the Conservatory.
