Had a fantastic family dinner here for Houston Restaurant Weeks. The lobster bisque had pieces of lobster and the crab cake was... mainly lump crab and also delish. Entrees of filet and snapper with etoufeee we're amazing. Filet was cooked perfectly at mediumrare and the snapper was equally as good! Carrot cake for dessert was perfectly moist and very tasty! The owner made a specialtrip to the grocery store during our meal to get fresh mint for a mojito, noting what they had was not fresh to theirstandards. The options for kiddos were 4oz filet, chicken tenders and there was a third item I can't recall. They brought herice cream for her 'surprise' after dinner! I had the medallion filet steaks, medium rare. Honestly it was unbelievable. I didn't even need my knife, the steak was so... tender I just used my fork. Their wine list is exceptional! Moms last min birthday dinner did not disappoint. Hidden gem! Wine was great. Service was great. Ribeye was FANTASTIC. Chocolate... cake, phenomenal. We tried to get reservations at 2-3 other steakhouses in the Katy area on Saturday night, however the wait times were an hour or... more. Surprisingly, when we called Lynn's, we were told there was no wait and simply gave our name to reserve a table for 2.When we arrived, we were quite impressed with the ambiance and relaxed, comforting atmosphere of the restaurant. We wereimmediately greeted by the owner who quickly had us seated in a quiet but welcoming corner of the smaller dining area. Let mestart by saying, I've tried dozens of steakhouses across the country. Lynn's has to be Houston's best kept secret and possiblyAmerica's best kept secrete and for good reason. The menu is pretty simple, and equally there's only one word that can be usedto describe the steaks: AMAZING! We ordered the prime filet and prime ribeye. Both were cooked to absolute medium perfection.Which was impressive in itself because surprisingly from my experience, many steak joints (prime steakhouses included) manage toscrew up the temperatures on their steaks more often than you would expect. I can assure you these steaks were cookedflawlessly. The beef was so tender and juicy, each bite literally melts in your mouth. My only minor complaint would be that myfilet did not make it to the table piping hot which is how I like my steak, but understandably that can happen when 2 differentcuts of steak are ordered at the same table. My girl's rib eye did arrive piping hot. The only thing I would have donedifferently is go with the rib eye instead of the filet because it was just as tender as the filet (which usually isn't thecase) and the rib eye was a lot more flavorful because, well that's how rib eyes are ; ). 1st time visit - We booked a table for a party of 16 to celebrate my daughter's birthday. She wanted evening attire to be worn... by all guests and Lynn's had a dress code. Which we loved - no hats no jerseys no shorts. Service was top notch from the 1streservation call to the final goodbye. The atmosphere was nice and quaint. The food was delicious. For our appetizer course, weordered crab cakes and beef carpaccio. Both were excellent choices. We had ordered all over the menu - steaks, seafood, housespecialties and an array of sides. We did not have one complaint on anything served to the table. The portions were just right.The bartender prepared our cocktails perfectly.
