Reviews for Loro in Houston, TX
I discovered Loro while reading an article about how they converted an old church into the restaurant. Asian smokehouse cuisine... was a new concept to me and so I wanted to try it. All in all it is good. The service was fast. It seemed very well organized. However, the order-at-the-counter concept combined with highish prices relative to the portion sizes just feels very confusing. It's trying to be gourmet and casual. Maybe 5 people being seated in a cramped booth put me off a bit. Also, there's cilantro ontop of everything (see pics lol). I like cilantro but it seemed like the garnishing was kind of phoned-in. Will I go back? Sureabsolutely. It was good food. Not amazing, but good. Something didn't check the box for me on it being hype-worthy. I liked thechicken and the pork belly the best. The salmon dip tastes like licorice. Read more
This place is new to my favorite list in Houston. Their dishes are very dynamic and can go from Asian to Mexican fusion. Their... style is different from other restaurants in town, very unique but also very good. Portion can be small but for a restaurantwith many good and quality dishes like this place, it's good to have a smaller portion so we can try multiple things. Read more
I had the yummiest brisket sandwich I ever had at this Loro in Houston. Their oak smoked beef brisket is amazing. Food came so... fast it felt like fast food; nevertheless, it had a great quality and was very yummy. Their patio is really beautiful and it?s agreat place to hangout with friends. Lots of indoor and outdoor seating available. Valet parking available too. Read more
Incredibly tasty items. The brisket was super tender and flavorful. The smoked salmon dip was everything my taste buds wanted.... The crispy potatoes were very fresh and perfectly seasoned. The Malaysian Curry Chicken was excellent and came with multiplesauces that makes everything better. Decent beer selection and craft cocktails were great! Definitely worth a visit. Read more
The entire experience was great! My daughter wanted to go here for her birthday. We pretty much ordered everything off the menu... and took lots of food home. We had the brisket, chicken thighs salmon dip and fried fish. Ambience was casual. Give it a try! Read more
Great selections on salads. Fresh. Try the typhoon cocktail. Very good. I had the kale and Asian pear salad with side chicken.... It was good but lots of kale and two little bitty slices of Asian pear, which was disappointing. The crispy potatoes and thesweet corn fritters are good. Also toasted coconut and snap pea salad with the side chicken was very good. Service is lacking. You?re pretty much on your own to figure things out here. Just a heads up. Read more
Loro exceeded expectation! The small plates were colorful, delicious, and unique. The brisket really stole the show of course.... The cold noodles were the best I've ever had. We were there for a birthday party and I was impressed at how well they handled alarger group day 2 into their opening. Our server, Luz, was very friendly and kind. We did not want for a single thing, shecould not have done a better job. Sometimes new restaurants have a slow kitchen as they gear up, but everything we ordered cameout so promptly, but was still plated with thought and care. There was not a single issue within the group or with any of thefood the entire meal - these are some professionals here at Loro! Highly recommend checking this place out, definitely anamazing restaurant in the Heights. Read more
I was finally able to visit Loro, a must when in the Heights area! This place was awesome and everything was delicious!! They... have several frozen drinks, I loved the Frozen Gin and Tonics, and all the food we tried couldn't get enough of! You order atthe counter and there are several people taking orders so you don't wait long. We ordered family style for the table, the dishes are small but shareable. Food came out fast and they bring dishes out as soon as they are ready. Read more
