Disappointed, we really wanted to like it. Terrible food and subpar service. We had been here before when it was the voice... restaurant. We liked it before and thought it was a good idea to make reservations to celebrate our anniversary here. Wrongchoice. Upon arrival, we stood and waited for 10 minutes before the bartender told us to sit ourselves. The bartender didn’task us for our drink order and served water. It took twenty minutes before she took out order. I had the Chicken Rositto, and myhusband had the steak and scallops. Both the chicken and beef (medium) was very dry. Getting the bill and paying was quick. Weasked if parking was complimentary or validated and they said check with the hotel front desk. We asked the front desk and theytold us the bar had to validate it. After the ten minute go around, the restaurant manager validated the parking. The restauranthas potential but, no where close to good at this time. Read more

The dishes look like they have been played by a 5 year old who plays chef dress up. They're too simple. nothing exciting to... offer for the price. Definitely needs new management or something. Read more

For dinner our waitress Stephanie was wonderful, attentive and had just a great attitude. The food was yummy and they have a lot... of comfort food options. Breakfast is a different story, overpriced for what you get. I don't know if they were short staffedbut they messed up my order multiple times. Also had to walk over the check at the end because after we finished we werecompletely ignored. Overall I would say avoid breakfasts here, but lunch/dinner is very good. Read more

Beautiful ambiance, great service by Maria for our party of 13; and the food was exceptional. We came from Florida for a visit,... and we were not disappointed. We will definitely be back again soon. Read more

A true hidden gem in the heart of downtown Houston. Line & Lariat is located in the historic Hotel ICON! Walk into the hotel and... you'll immediately feel warm and welcome by true Texas history. The luxurious finishes and details of the bar and restaurantarea make you feel like you've walked into a 5 star steakhouse. The cocktails at the bar are top notch (here are a couple that Ihad- guava martini and Astros on the rocks- both of the menu - prepared by Oscar). My dining experience was excellent, the foodat the restaurant is to die for. Pack your appetite, servings are Texas sized! It's a great date night destination. It's also agreat place to have a cocktail before or after a downtown event. I can't wait to dine Line & Lariat again! Read more

Hands down just excellent! We had our very first date here and I picked the place because of a certain Malbec they had. I... informed the host that it was a special evening and man did they go above and beyond! They took my card before so there was noquestion of who got to pay at the end, I didn't have time to pick up flowers so they offered me a few from their vase in theback, I had wrapped a present and like clock work the server tacitly brought it out at desert just as I had instructed! As Imentioned I picked the place based on a wine, however when it came time to bring it out, they had just sold the last bottle! Sothe manager extended their apologies and offered another bottle and was kind enough to give a discount on the bottle to make upfor the hiccup. Our service was divine, our food was great, the atmosphere romantic and calm just like I had asked for. Thisplace holds a special place in my heart because of how much attention to detail they paid to my wants and needs. With their helpour first date was a knockout! I mean, afterall we are just about to celebrate another anniversary! Read more

I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone! Wish I would have read the other reviews before I decided to have dinner here... my... experience was very similar. The service was extremely slow (2 hours) and there were only 5 other tables. Then on a $98 checkfor two people the restaurant added on $14 for gratuity. No wonder the service is slow and no one cares. They get theremoney! Then, if all of that wasn't bad enough, the hotel manager said they "validate parking". She wrote on my ticket & stapledit to my receipt... Only to get out to the valet attendant and have him argue that we owed him $12. After another trip in totalk to the hotel manager and some trash talking from the valet, we ended up paying $6 for parking (which by the way is notlisted as a price on the posted sign). It was an all around bad experience. To make matters even worse... right across thestreet is Hearsay Gastro which would NEVER do any of the things listed above. Read more
