Everybody was great! Daughter and I were celebrating good results from MDA. We enjoyed the lunch specials: crab cake salad, 1/2... oyster poboy, seafood gumbo, fancy coffee dessert drink, and two desserts (bread pudding and key lime pie). I lived in NewOrleans for six years so I know good Cajun food. It was delicious though the poboy could have stood a few more oysters, butI’m not complaining! Read more

Ssshhhhh.....don't tell anybody; it's a secret. Locals go to Joyce's because they have probably been going for decades. We... stumbled upon Joyce's quite by accident. I am certain (I spoke to owner) the restaurant is a well preserved 1990's bit ofnostalgia...not much has changed...and maybe that is awesome...like the food. You could pay a lot more...but you probably won'teat any better. Go Here because it is local; family owned and yummy. It isn't hip; it isn't cool; it isn't going to show up ina magazine...bbbuuuttt....Service, food and drinks; exceptional, terrific, delicious. Just, please, ssshhhh....this should beour little secret. Read more

My wife and I went out to Texas for the UT-Bama game and after driving back to Houston after the game we were hot, tired...and... hungry. My wife had eaten at Joyce's before, so I deferred to her choice of restaurants. I wasn't disappointed. I found therestaurant comfortable, but not pretentious. We split an appetizer of fried crab claws and loved them. Big, fat, andmoist...not like the little ones so typical on the Florida Gulf Coast that are inevitably overcooked. My wife had the redfishfrom the daily specials menu and loved it. I order from the daily specials as well, the rainbow trout with bianco sauce. Itwas great. Moist and flavorful. The angel hair pasta with diced tomatoes was the perfect side dish. We split a Pecan CremeBrule for dessert (I needed the sugar for the drive down to our hotel at Hobby). Excellent. If I had a complaint, it would bethat the french bread (that came to the table wrapped in foil and I expected to be hot and tender) was simply at roomtemperature. But that wasn't enough to detract from the thorough enjoyment of the rest of the meal. Read more

We went during Restaurant’s Week. The shrimp, chicken, and spinach Alfredo was really good. The portion size was large. I just... didn’t like the spinach but I still enjoyed it. The bread pudding was amazing. Next time I’ll add the ice cream. My friendhad the enchiladas and she really enjoyed them. The service was nice. If they would have played light music in the background itwould have been even better. Oh I had the appetizer-gumbo. It was good but not having sausages in gumbo threw my taste buds off. Read more

We decided to take lunch so walked down to Joyce 's seafood. We had calamari starter but was a bit tough. The fish was lovely.... I was expecting the scampi to be crumbed but it was not and the sauce was a bit lemon it was nice so I am not complaining justletting you know. Ice cream cake is a very big portion so make sure you share it Read more

Today is our second visit and the quality continues to impress! The staff here are very courteous and accommodating without... being overbearing. If you are looking for five star service in a refreshingly casual atmosphere, look no further. But let’stalk about the most important reason of why you’re reading this review. The food! Wow, so delightful. My wife is a seafoodjunkie and this is now my go to spot to make her happy! I can enjoy a surprisingly delicious plate while she gets her seafoodon! Check out the photos! We ordered a rainbow trout and red beans and rice with the catfish! Read more

Overall best to come here for light seafood and the desert. Service is a little lackadaisical. The restaurant is nice inside... and quaint with and open and friendly ambiance. The waitstaff are friendly, but rather slow paced. Had to ask for them to fillour water. Asked for extra napkins that never arrived. Note to manager- the appetizer arrived and we noticed that the orderpaper was on the plate- gross to see and not sanitary. Told the waitress, but they did nothing about it. The calamari was goodwith a nice breading. Note to chef- it was about a minute overdone so a little chewy. Do NOT order the sirloin. Thepreparation was good, but the quality was not good at all, so the meat was very tough. The twice baked potato is one of thebetter ones I have tasted. The shrimp were good and tasty. The red fish was also good, but (note to chef) needed a little offlavor. Put the garlic butter on it and it was good - maybe either garlic, lemon, or some seasoning- needed something. Theasparagus was done very well, nice and tender. Amazing key lime pie. Absolutely fantastic. The cappuccino was also welldone. With a few tweaks, this place could be a 4+ star, right now just barely earns a 3. Read more
