This place reminded me why I don't tip before eating. Got home and found they skimped on meat with huge dry bones instead.... Lesson learned. Egusi was ok, I guess they cater more to blender pallettes. The pepper soup made me want to cry, what adisappointment. The other foods were average, nothing special. Read more
This place was a pleasant surprise for me and my husband. We were in the Rice Village area and searched for Naija cuisine. We... found Jollof King and thought ?you have to be rather confident to call yourself Jollof King? so we decided to give it a try. Webraved insane pouring rain to get here and boy, was I glad we did. I had swallow with egusi and hubby had ogbono and grilledcroaker fish and it was all very delicious. The stew took me right back to home-cooked meals in Naija and those owambes withauthentic soupy stew. Whew! I scraped every of my leftovers and took with me. We got the Jollof to go and it was yummy too. Wecalled to order before arriving there and the food was out within minutes. The staff was also polite and helpful. 10/10 wouldrecommend! Read more
Atrocious. I ordered egusi with pounded yam and paid an extra $8 for oxtail. I received only the egusi. Pounded yam was missing,... and they put beef instead. This is absolutely terrible service. I was excited to try Houston Nigerian food as I am visiting fromCanada, but I will NEVER recommend this place. 0 stars. How insulting. I ordered 30 min to their closing time, so this feelsvery intentional as they knew I won?t be able to call and complain. DO NOT ORDER FROM HERE. I?ve never written a bad review, butthe food and service was so terrible I had to for this. How can you charge an extra $8 for oxtail and replace it with beefinstead (which was no extra charge might I add). This is absolutely terrible service, and I?ll make sure to let any one thatvisits Houston know NOT TO ORDER HERE. Read more

#JoeFoodTour really love the diverse cuisine in Houston! Tried my second Nigerian restaurant. I asked the server what I should... get and was recommended rice and oxtail. Why not? It was amazing. #HowdyFromHouston #ThePropertyJoes #LivingLifeInHouston#nigeria Read more
