We've been trying to go to Gatlin's for a while now and just didn't make it. Today we did! I had the pulled pork sandwich with... mac and cheese, while the hubby had the sliced brisket with beans and potato salad. The positive: lots of selection for meatand sides, as well as the dipping sauce was just right. The negative: too much fat on the meat. BOTH meats. I spent more timepicking out the fat from the pulled pork as well as the hubby eating around the fat in the brisket. there should be some fat inthe meat for flavor, etc. However, you shouldn't be spitting out fat in every bite. I'm also still trying to figure out why themac and cheese tasted like pickle juice was in it?? Read more

Brisket is very good, sausage was alright, and the pork was not great. I was surprised the potato salad wasn't good, never had... salad like that before. I would say overall the bbq was pretty good, but there are better ones out there. Service was good too. Read more

Our daughter-in-law came with my wife and I to this smoky meat palace and we're sure glad we did! Everything we tried was the... best of the best. we got the three meat plate with two sides and got an extra meat. The moist end brisket...the lady that tookour order asked me to specify....most places leave it up to you but you have to request it....here they ask up front...lovethat. The brisket had tons of flavor and almost fall apart tender, in my top 2 or 5 all time, this is the good stuff people. The St. Louis style pork ribs were in the top two....that good. The turkey was in that same stellar class of tastiness. Wegot a link of their fine traditional sausage which was 5 stars as well. The plate came with 2 small containers of their BBQsauce, they only do one kind but they do it well.....this 'Q don't need no sauce anyway. The sides were just as amazing as the'Q. The fried okra being on the menu helped us decide on this awesome joint over another highly rated 'Q place, the okra was 5stars. Our daughter-in-law loves tater salad and their version hit all our spots....down to the last bite....everything we gotdisappeared. We'll be back for more with our son. This is a little distance from our house but well worth the drive....roadtrip! Read more

I saw lots of folks standing around when I came in and was worried there would be a long wait, I was wrong. The young lady at... the register was very knowledgeable and friendly. Didn't take long for the food to come out at all. The food tasted absolutelyamazing! I LOVE cucumber salad and I've found a new place to get it! That was my first time there and I will definitely be back. Read more

Everything excellent! Ordered 3 meats (brisket, spare ribs, regular sausage) got Texas toast, smoked corn, and yams. Corn was... very flavorful and unique. Awesome experience which I would highly suggest trying. Yams were delectable and exquisite. Settingis very clean and nice TVs for watching sports. Large dining area with a smokehouse vibe but sanitized and clean. 11/10 wouldrecommend. It?s nap time. Read more

I've been wanting try this place for a while and, just recently, was able to stop by for lunch. I ordered the 2 meat plate:... brisket, baby back ribs, Mac n cheese, and smoked corn. It was about $24. A little more than I wanted to spend on lunch but Iwanted to try a couple of different meats (they charged extra for the ribs I got too). That being said, I was not hungry for therest of the day and skipped dinner so it still ended up being worth it. BBQ is so good in Houston it's hard to stand out butthis place is definitely one of my favorite BBQ places I've tried so far after just one visit. Even the sides were good. Iparticularly enjoyed the ribs with the glaze they put on it. Already looking forward to trying other items on their menu. Read more
