Had lunch here today and the staff and ambience of the restaurant were amazing. We ordered: 1) tomato & tapenade porchetta 2)... tuna sandwich And two menton spritz The tuna sandwich was okay and the menton spritz was excellent. Unfortunately, we wereconfused about the tomato & tapenade porchetta because the menu suggested there would be asparagus and tomato within thedish. I’ve always heard wonderful things about this restaurant and they are true! The food is delicious. I ordered the lamb on the... skewers and it was cooked perfectly. Stopped in for a quick bite at the bar for lunch. The service was good the atmosphere wasnice and quiet. If you’re at the Galleria and need A bite to eat I would definitely recommend coming here. Got the set of 6 crostinis- the ratatouille, lemon ricotta, and prosciutto ones were really good as were the cocktails. The rest... of the food was okay. This is the worst restaurant experience I have ever had in Houston. Nothing about it worked as it should have. For starters, I... made reservations online and added a notation under special requests to please acknowledge my friend's birthday. That was neverdone in any way. When we arrived, my friend asked to be seated at a specific table. She was told no because it was a four topand there were two of us, even though the entire restaurant was empty. So we were seated at a wobbly two top. The waiter saw usstruggling with it and did nothing to help. The menu was quite limited and definitely overpriced for what was being offered. Weboth chose the avocado and pea toast, with a side of parmesan fries. My friend ordered a lemonade. The food was barely adequatefor a small breakfast, let alone a lunch. Smashed peas and avocados smeared on sourdough bread with a half of a small avocadoand half of a hard-boiled egg. That was the entirety of the meal. The fries tasted like McDonald's. Then it was time for adessert, and of course the waiter did nothing for my friend's birthday. He brought me the check, which was exorbitant for whatwe got, and charged me for a $9 cocktail. When I told him we did not order a cocktail, he told us that my friend's lemonade wasmade at the bar and was therefore more expensive. What??? I feel like I was totally ripped off at this restaurant. Garage/Valet Atmosphere- Inviting, fun, and relaxing Staff- Superb My experience: My presence was well received here. From thetime we walked in and were greeted by the host, to the time we made it to our table and was met by our server, it wasphenomenal. I personally love impressionable staff members and that's what the host and all the people we encountered that workhere were. Anna, our server was very knowledgeable, engaged, and energetic about what the menu had to offer. I'm not sure howthe protocol works for this restaurant but all staff members do a great job of welcoming you even if they're just bringing youanother cup of water, they're very happy to be serving you. Mediterranean dishes never tend to disappoint me, I can't speak foreveryone but for me in general they're always flavorful always delicious always rich and this time didn't disappoint either. Sure thing they do have good food. Prices are ok for the level of the restaurant. Service can be better that why it didn’t 5... star in my book. The French toast was recommended by the host and yes it is worth trying. Read more
