I love Dave?s Hot chicken. I lived in California and when I moved here I knew I Would miss it! I was thrilled to see this... location and came in. Now I?ve visited this location over 10x. Excellent food, tasty quality and great service. Today theservice was just phenomenal! I especially want to give Ojinga recognition for his stellar customer service. I was pleasantly surprised to find that this is definitely some of the best hot chicken I've had in Houston so far! The discount... for Rice students is also a great perk. Pricing is decent and the food is delicious and fresh. Vibe: Small interior with decentseating, also some space in the outside patio. Cool wall art inside. Good amount of parking on the side with Velvet taco. Food:We got a two slider combo and a strawberry milkshake. There's a decent wait if you don't order ahead - I think this is likelybecause they get a TON of online orders for takeout (lots of people came in and out) and the meals are cooked to order. Weordered one slider with no spice and the other as hot. The food was worth the wait. The chicken and fries came out steaming hot,and we even nearly burned ourselves (which is a fantastic thing)! The chicken is seasoned very well, and the "hot" sauce isactually pretty spicy, but in a way that enhances the flavors of the slider rather than overwhelm you. Chicken tenders are huge,juicy, tender, and full of flavor. The secret sauce is tart and acidic, which goes perfectly with the toasted brioche bun,savory spicy chicken, and refreshing + crunchy slaw. All the components of the slider harmonized. The crinkle cut fries werealso excellent, great crunchy exterior and fluffy inside. The strawberry milkshake was also super good. Incredibly creamy andmalty with the flavor of real strawberries, it was a perfect dessert and complement to the hot chicken. The portion size forthis combo was very generous - we actually split this combo between the two of us and were pretty satisfied. We think the priceis justified by the quality of the food. Welp had to try another Dave's in the H for quality control purposes and what not. This location is just as good in every way.... The staff is super friendly and greet you as you come in. They periodically check on you and thank you for being their customerand it feels natural, not forced. The chicken is so good. Tons of flavor, juicy, and dare I say moist. Being a Dave's regular,I've learned some lessons. If you like heat but don't want to get beat up, Medium is more than anyone's medium. It had plenty ofheat but still keeps the whole experience enjoyable. Some of you will want to up the ante and that is fine, but you have beenwarned. After eating your finger licking good Dave's, be sure to wash your hands before anything else especially going to therestroom (for the fellas) and before you rub your eyes...you're welcome for that. First time trying Dave?s hot chicken and let me tell you, the spice is not a joke. I loved it! I ordered the hot tenders and... they had a great kick to them but the girl upfront recommended the Dave?s sauce and honey on top to take away some of the heat,great recommendations! I had a great time trying out the new Dave?s Hot Chicken in Rice Village! The chicken itself was super flavorful and cooked... just right! The staff were also very friendly and attentive if I needed anything. I got the 1-tender, 1- slider combo withmedium spice which was starting to get a little hot, but you could still taste the chicken ? really well balanced! The 2-slidercombo is also super easy to split if you?re a college student on a budget! I?ll be visiting again soon! Read more
