I love coming to Avalon Diner on the Katy Frwy. The staff is friendly, the portions are big, and the food is prepared... quickly. Today I saw the ?Did Someone Say Cake Promo?. Purchase an entrée and get a piece of cake for $1. What a deal! I alsonoticed their ?Running Side Work Sheet?, no wonder they stay so clean and organized. I've been looking for this place! Breakfast served all day. Southern comfort food just like an old cafe or diner. Lots of... upscale places to choose from but if you want good food for a good price I recommend this place. Its kinda tucked away in astrip center so look for it. Read more
We have given this business a couple of tries. The speed of service is definitely not quick by any stretch of the imagination.... The Monday blue plate chicken fried steak and mashed potatoes with gravy is really pretty good. The chicken fried steak and themashed potatoes literally cover the entire plate. So well worth the price for the meal that you get. The follow-up service partduring the meal is about the same. As it appears there's only a couple of folks maintaining the tables for what is a fairly goodsize dining room. I'm not sure that we will be back as another guest was highly irritated, and was addressing the staff andcashier with nothing but f-bombs, one right after another. I don't know anything about this particular guest or theirrelationship with the business. But the cashier who was of senior status did not address the customer to curve his language ashe was loud enough that anyone within the business could hear his comments including a member of the wait staff who started toaddress him from across the room. So I know he was loud enough that she could hear him a good 40 or so feet away.Disappointing.... Read more
