Tried on a whim for brunch. Chicken Fried Steak had a really nice flavor without any gravy and the biscuit was very crumbly. Now... I can?t vouch for the eggs or grits. They just had a really bad taste to them. Now that could be just because my order waspickup so I?ll try again in the future to see if they taste better straight out the kitchen to table. Read more

This is a classic American diner with prices to match. We come here a lot. This last time my girlfriend got the club sandwich.... It was salty and the turkey was slimy. But that was the only time we had experienced anything like that before. Read more

Very good food. This was our first time here and we really enjoyed it. It was a little more expensive than I would have liked. I... ordered a side of pancakes and was charged like it was an additional entree so I won't do that again. I ordered them in place oftoast or biscuits and figured it would be a couple extra bucks instead of the $8.95 I was charged. Live and learn, but that'swhy the four stars instead of 5. Read more

Just moved to this area and we found the best place for breakfast and lunch. Great menu, old timey feel of food quality, decor,... and great customer service. Sarah was our waitress, and she owned the place. She busted several tables and not only kept it allmoving, she kept us happy and was a pro. I love to support local businesses with a family owned and operated groove. Give thesefolks a try, you won't be disappointed. Read more

First time coming here. The place was very unique and the decoration was good. The Menu is very diverse, you will find way more... options than a regular breakfast restaurant like waffle house or IHOP. The have healthy menu options and soups as well. We triedtwo omelettes which were really good. Coming back for sure to try different plates. Read more

Small town feel, quaint, cozy, with great food to boot. You'll not be disappointed. Service with a smile from the moment we got... there until we left. Food was delicious! Read more

Being in this place is like a little travel to the past, decoration is very well selected, with touches of pastel colors and... some beautiful planes hanging in the ceilings, made me feel to be in a coffee in the sixties. I just learn Avalon is being inHouston since 1938!!. Of course this location is newer but I suppose they respect some of the original concept. They arespecialist in breakfast and lunch. If you need fuel for you whole day, this place is a good option to start the day. I had theBenedictine eggs, those are served only on weekends an holidays. They were very classical, the poached eggs mounted in a muffin with ham, and the hollandaise sauce on it, I like the fact that the ham were thick slices. It was super good. On mynext visit I will try the burgers, they said they continue doing them with their original recipe from 1938. Read more

Food and customer service is absolutely terrible. They should cancel doing business on UberEATS because they are obviously not... capable of providing quality food or service. I had to call the restaurant after waiting over an hour for them to notify theUberEATS pickup driver that my food was ready. As far as the food, it?s bland and taste stale. Old thin chicken breast, wiltedlettuce, unsalted grocery store fires that taste like the inside of a freezer. The half filled chocolate malt had a peculiartaste, like they mistakenly added banana or some other flavor. I would not recommend ordering takeout from here. Read more
