Reviews for Akiko in Houston, TX
It was surprisingly good. Not quite as good as my favorite, Nippon on Montrose Blvd, but a very solid option much closer to my... house. The service was fast and friendly, which is always nice.\n\nI do wish they had mackerel, fatty tuna, and some poke, butwhat they had was great - including the hot sake ????.\n\nI’ll definitely be back. For a couple years I think this place was being built so it is good to finally come and visit it. Very cool location I think, it... is small and almost hidden in a way. The staff is nice and attentive. Don\'t think we waited too long for food and also thepeople around me didn\'t wait much either for their food. Sushi had a great fresh flavor. I definitely recommend people comevisit this place. Also plenty of parking. Read more
Trust me when I say this place is worth it!!! I’ve been trying out MANY sushi restaurants in Houston to find that hidden gem... that offers not only quality but value at the same time. And Akiko delivered!!\nEverything we eat was delicious and for theprice, you can’t really find any better deal (at least not in Houston). Highly recommend the crab ragoon, salmon belly nigiriand their special nigiri pieces with scallop and foie gras!! The matche cream brûlée is also top notch!!\n\nDefinitely my favplace for sushi from now on!! Keep up the good works! Read more

Food was exquisite! The lunch menu was such good pricing! The staff was so lovely & helpful! I’ve definitely eaten at other... sushi places before but Jenn really guided me through ordering here. She asked me what I liked and what she suggested was basedoff of my preferences. Truly superb service and cuisine! Will definitely go here again & bring more friends too! It’s verymuch that IT place! For local sushi, it’s definitely climbed up to number one place for me.\n\nP.S. please excuse my badphotos, my Phone camera is broken from one too many drops ???? Read more
Quite worth the wait after the closing of the previous sushi restaurant.\nAkiko is probably one of the best sushi restaurants... that I’ve been to. From the easily accessible location, to the seemingly seductive environment. Akiko is a great restaurant, and as I walked in I was instantly aware of this feeling of awe, as from the lighting of the bar, to the thought-inspiringdecorations, Akiko had me engaged.\nAs the food came, I was expecting for the food to match the quality of what this restaurantseems to put out, and not to my surprise, it did. Apart from all of this, the service was not as exceptional as the otherfeatures of the restaurant, being what seemed the tiniest bit slower than what I would have expected.\nAll in all: Akiko isquite a feature for a sushi restaurant in this area and I would recommend a trip here to all in the area. Delicious rolls, large menu, great ambiance. Service was friendly and for a full service restaurant, the wait was not long. We... had the sushi boat (fun presentation) and sashimi. Don\'t let the location next to JC Penny\'s confuse you, in fact it meanslots of parking. We will definitely add this restaurant to our regular local mix. Read more
