This is one of the few places in Alabama, that you can find true vinegar based barbecue, like we have where I grew up in South... Carolina. Not only is it delicious, but it is a little bit healthier for you, as well. Staff is always extremely friendly andaccommodating here. Last, but not least, they had the best cheese biscuits in the world. I try to bring home a bag to makemyself when we are back in Florida. In my book, Jim and nicks is the best barbecue in Alabama. Our food was cold when we got it. Sent it back and one was still cold. It was very good though and the waiter took care of our... issues post haste. I can understand it up to this point, mistakes happen. The prices is what I cannot overcome. Two regular BBQplates with 2 sides was $100. I won't be back solely on price. I hate it too because I ate there a fair amount. AND WHO TOOKTHE SAUSAGE OFF THE MENU!!????? Read more

Don't order the catfish unless you'd like a kiddie portion. This was a joke! Full Moon is much better, and you'll get an adult... sized piece of fish. It had been a long time since I'd been to Jim 'n Nick's. Disappointed to say the least. Won't be going backanytime soon. Read more

This is good bbq, period. Having lived for many years in Texas, the Kansas City area, and the Memphis area I know good bbq... when I see it, smell it, and taste it. I ordered the brisket plate and the slices were thick. The smoke ring was readilyapparent and the brisket was hot, tender, and juicy, and had a great smokey flavor. The mac n cheese was good, and the beanswere excellent! They tasted like they had drippings in them. My wife had ribs and brisket and thoroughly enjoyed both. I highlyrecommend this establishment. The restaurant style, decor and quality lay out make it ideal for a nice meal. Staffing shortage but waitress Sunny worked hard... to take care of us. The food was not special as we?ve experienced in the past. The fries seemed to have been slowly soaked inthe oil/grease not crispy and light. The pulled pork was cooked with sauce and seemed mushy. The BBQ beans were good. They needto step up a bit if they intend to maintain their ?best BBQ? status. Read more

One of the worst salads that I've ever eaten. I don't understand why I have to pay so much for an intentional disappointment.... This salad was pretty much aging lettuce without the trimmings that normally come with it. And the chicken was horrible. Myadvice is, if you can't provide quality food then take it off the menu!!!! Went to this location at lunch time on an empty stomach. I ordered the beef brisket sliced with marbling. I also had sides of... collard greens and mac cheese. OMG. The brisket had a great smoke ring color and smelled wonderful. The brisket's flavor wasfull and not over powered by the sauce so it paired wonderfully. The collard greens was the bomb and up there with some of thebest I've ever had. The Mac and cheese was okay - not the best and not the worst. I would definitely put this location upagainst some fine Arkansas and Texas BBQ joints. Read more
