We tried SXY Szechuan last night and felt really disappointed. We ordered the fat intestines with taro and chicken. The taste... was not authentically spicy and numb - I understood the alteration; the intestines shank into thin circles; and the chicken wasmeatless - just necks, ribs, and wing tips! AUTHENTIC! Been many places around the US and SXY Szechuan in my opinion is definitely top 3. They keep to their recipes and... dont try to ?americanize? (i mean no disrespect). I could tell by just the smell of the food how good it was gonna be and theydid NOT disappoint. Shrimp fried rice- 100000! Sweet and Sour Pork Ribs- 100000! Stone bowl mapu tofu - 100000! the staff wereVery polite not rushing us but still attentive to our needs. We even brought our service dog and they had no issues (manyplaces in HI still havent been informed about service animals and their/our rights). Looking for SPicY food? Then come to SXY Szechuan. They have amazing spicy food like pork ribs, pigs large intestine(sound... Disgusting but REALLY yummy) and they also have rice to eat. They also have wine, cocktails, and sodas. The service here is alsogreat, they are so friendly and fast getting your food. As a Taiwanese, I can tell you this is the best Chinese food in Honolulu. Amy, the owner, is genuinely nice and passionate about... her cuisines. She always customized Mapo Tofu for me in its original Sichuan flavor. Plus, she makes the best cocktails?I alwaysgo for SXY Sunset and Mojito. The experience here was fantastic. The staff are polite and very attentive. The food here is served family style and the... portions are large. We had four people and it was more than enough food with Dan Dan Noodles, and the 3 dishes in the pics. Wehad fried rice, twice cooked pork and the beef strips. Highly recommend the Szechuan style pork salad. The shredded potatoesdefinitely needs more work in terms of cutting potatoes into thin slices (see pic for detail).
