Very creative dishes with unique tastes. Loved the artistic presentations! Their A5 wagyu steak was super tender and juicy. Foie... gras appetizer was addicting. The warm chocolate coolant was to die for! And I loved the large selection of artisan teas. Thankyou for an unforgettable dinner. Read more

We really wanted to like Hoku's and felt excited by the menu. The meal was all about presentation, and very little about making... the ingredients shine. It was underwhelming and not the fine dining experience we were expecting. Service is fantastic however, and our server was very attentive. My friend and I recently visited Hoku's and both chose their 4 course tasting menu. Iordered the beet salad, seafood ravioli, wagyu (for an upcharge), and pineapple upside down cake. My friend ordered the ahi, truffle pasta (upcharge), duck, and banana dessert. The beet salad was hard to get down (there were a few drops of dressing, andendive is bitter). The ravioli was delicious and I could have eaten 10 of them. My A5 wagyu was served over a taro/ham hash witha quail egg on top. Wagyu is hard to mess up , and I enjoyed this dish. My dining partners Ahi should not have been served, asthe chewy/tough pieces were molded into her carpaccio. Her truffle pasta could have been divine had it had salt. The duck washer favorite, but the portion is not a breast. The server poured a cream anglaise all over her banana dessert (which said itcame with a chocolate sauce). We assumed they are told to do this and there was so much cream anglaise that it ruined the bananadessert, she didn't eat it. Everything lacked seasoning, salt, or acid. Given that we ordered dishes that came off multiplestations in the kitchen, we could only surmise that this is intentional. The chef is intentionally choosing to under season eachcourse, and it ruined the meal. My dining partner has worked in some great restaurants, and didn't want to offend the kitchen byasking for salt. We had a lovely and special dinner here on our honeymoon. We did the 4 course meal and everything was so delicious, especially... the ravioli, short rib and desserts. We also had a beautiful sunset view and thoughtful and attentive service throughout. Wecan’t recommend highly enough for a special meal! Read more

By far the best restaurant during our trip to Hawaii with a real 5-star experience! Food, winelist, style, location/ambiente and... service (Lisa) at the highest level. Fine dining at it's best. We can highly recommend this place and already booked a table forour dinner tomorrow. We would award the 1st Michelin Star to Hoku's. Read more

This was an amazing brunch experience. Able to get your fill of food without feeling grossly stuffed. The presentation was... immaculate, although the drinks were rather expensive; not atypical in Hawaii though. A really nice bar area as well. Read more
