Maple Canadian Pub was a tale of two experiences. Upon our arrival, all seemed to be going poorly. We had our reservation... filled late, we recieved watered-down drinks, and our food took a fair bit longer than normal. Admittedly, a fair bit of this issurely due to a more stressed schedule during the pandemic, Then, to everyone's pleasure... the food was unbelievable. From thefish to the brisket, the poutine to the watermelon salad, it was positive reactions all around with friendly service. So expectwait times and maybe a couple hiccups, but food that'll make you forget all about it. Read more
Disappointed and surprised! In short, asked for one beer and server came back said they were out of it, requested another, same... thing. Then requested a Stella in bottle with a glass, glass never came. Total time for beer to arrive was over 10 minutes. On a positive note my wifes sangria was presented well and was delicious. Ordered calamari as an app, came out quick but wasdark brown, overcooked, and texture was almost hard. On a positive note the dipping sauce was very tasty. Not worth $16 as anapp. I ordered bison burger with sweet potato fries, it was very good and cooked perfect. My wife ordered the $25 halibut andfries, and the halibut was way overcooked and was like cardboard, seriously not over exaggerating! Table attention from serverswas poor at best. 3 servers on and on 3 tables on patio, nobody inside. Had to ask for the bill twice from two differentservers. Finally got it and for $90 we left with huge disappointment. Should also mention that we had to call 3 times for thereservation, left two messages over a 3 day period and no return call, on our 3rd attempt someone answered. Its myunderstanding that the owners of this establishment are restauranteurs, surprising! We have eaten at this restaurant for yearsunder the previous operators and never had a bad experience. Its too bad since this is a great dining location with greatsunset views. I could have some understanding if they were getting absolutly slammed but it was far from the case.
