I was recommended Native by my manager at work who visits Lake Wallenpaupack often. I too was in the area enjoying the lake... when I got the chance to go to this restaurant. What a pleasant surprise this gem of a restaurant was. coming from the NYCarea, I have a high standard for eateries and this place was phenomenal. The appetizers were delicious - do not sleep on themeatballs and BLT (Pork Belly, Green Tomato and herb mayo). The pasta dishes were also excellent and used fresh localingredients. We have been wanting to try Native for a while. The menu was very interesting and the staff were all very knowledgeable about... the menu, friendly, and attentive. We were really impressed with how good they were with dietary restrictions. We started withthe bison tartare and crab toast. We then tried the smoked duck rillette and the beach lake bakery bread. Of these, ourfavorites were the bison tartare and the bread with chili butter. For our meals, we had the roasted half chicken and thegrilled trout. The chicken was very well seasoned and very good. For dinner we ordered a honey Panna Cotta. This was not atraditional Panna Cotta, and had more of a cheesecake consistency. If you like that, this would be a good Panna Cotta for you,but if you're expecting a traditional Panna Cotta, this is not that... The honey flavor definitely came through though. Fabulous 5 start meal during our first visit to Native. Sat at chef?s bar which was an amazing experience watching these... beautiful and delicious dishes come together. Friendly staff, great ambiance and prices were reasonable too. So lucky to havethis gem. Read more

This restaurant brings the big city feels to a small town. The flavor profiles of the food is on point. We tried the wedge... salad, squid ink pasta, and crab toast. All delicious.
