It was my first time eating here. Decided to try something simple, so I could compare it to other places.. I decided on the... pasta sampler. It included ravioli, lasagna and manicotti. When the plate came out they were all in 1 dish under a single layerof sauce and cheese. The flavors between the 3 weren't distinct. I had to figure out which of the 3 I was eating. The manicottiwas good and was obvious due to the while cheese filling, the ravioli was very similar to the lasgna in texture and flavor. Ialso had the chicken soup that came with the meal, it was a bit spicy but had good flavor. Fresh bread was brought to the table,so hot it could barely be handled. Service was good, fast and friendly, our waitress did an excellent job. Prices were fair, portions were decent, several at our table took leftovers to go. Overall everything was good, and the food was better than manyplaces I've eaten at in San Antonio. While none of the items I had stood out they were decent and I would consider returning totry some more of the more less common items. Read more

Until recently, I really loved this location. About a month ago that changed. I ordered two dishes. The filling in one dish was... just as expected. The second dish? The ricotta filling had gone bad. I returned with the dish so they would stop serving ituntil someone was willing to try the food they sold me. Not my dish, but rather a stuffed shell like I ordered. It didn?t appearthat the counter person believed what I was saying and no refund was offered. I?ve eaten there many times. It was my first badexperience and will also be my last. They should be occasionally checking their own food and their staff should understand goodcustomer service. Get a manager that understands no one should be paying for spoiled food especially when it?s brought back toyou. Sorry Luigi?s. You needed to do better. Read more

What an awesome find, we?ve been traveling for over a year and miss some of our home restaurants, this may even be better than... home. First their house Italian dressing was fantastic and I normally don?t even eat that. We ordered the shrimp margheritaappetizer and the chicken rollatini dinner. The sautéed shrimp is served in a sauce loaded with crabmeat. The chicken was donea little different as it was also stuffed with crab. Both were fantastic but they were so rich we couldn?t even come close tofinishing it all. We?re going to have some great leftovers! Read more

Luigi?s was a great choice to stop and eat as we drove through Hondo. We enjoyed some complimentary garlic knots as we waited... for our meal. The spaghetti and fried calamari were delicious. Our server was friendly and attentive. The prices were pleasingto the pocketbook. Best of all, our little furry friend, Sir Winston, was given a friendly welcome. Read more

Been here twice & the food has been good both times, service could use some improvement. Both visits, it took a little bit to... be greeted & was then told to choose my own seat. Both times took a while for a server to come to the table, despite not realybeing very busy. My server the first visit spoke almost no english. Normally that wouldn't be a problem, but the menu wasn'tvery clear. He was unable to answer any of my questions & did not get anyone else to help out. I ended up just pointing to acouple of things. I got muscles & a veal dish, both of which were well prepared and generous portions. I got a cannoli fordesert and it was hard/stail to the point of being inedible. My second trip, the waitress was pleasant, but not familiar withthe menu or dishes, maybe she was new. The wait time for the food was reasonable, but seemed long due to never getting the soupI ordered. My appetizer and meal then came out at the same time. When I pointed out that I never received the soup that wassupposed to be included with my meal, an apology is all I got, no offer to deduct bill or give me soup to go. This is the typeof small family business that I realy want to love, but so far it has only been OK. Lots of potential & not a lot of diningoptions in that area, so will probably give another chance next time I am in the area. Read more

Very unassuming spot with fantastic food. Wait staff was very kind and gave great recommendations for the spinach and artichoke... dip. The bread rolls were delightful and fresh, I recommend pairing with along with the crostini served with the dip. I orderedthe manicotti which was served piping hot and you could tell everything was made fresh. The flavor of the cheese, sauce, andspinach all combined to be very flavorful without being over-seasoned. Read more
