The food is good most of the time. They change the veggies everytime I ask them to add it. I guess it's a different cook and... every veggie is completely different ???? that's really the only downfall besides they need two different sizes for the Lo meinand really put the veggies in it. You should have that option Instead of being charged one price when you're not really wantingthat much. You're just getting a lot of noodles anyways and sometimes it's a bit to oily ????... Beware spending your $ here. Today, I ordered vegetable fried rice only to come home and find someone else?s melted mint gum... intertwined into it. I?m guessing the cook?s gum fell into it, and they still decided to serve it. I had to throw the entirecontainer away. Eat there at your own risk. They clearly follow no hygiene practices while cooking and preparing your food. Read more

5IVE ST*RS!!! This is the Sketchiest restaurant in the metro, and it's in Homewood! Go figure. This makes Gordos seem like Chez... FonFon. Fried chicken at the Brighton Marathon, the River Fish Market on Vanderbilt, and Boston Fish Supreme (multiplelocations) give you more comfort than this place. SOME folks love the food. The egg rolls are the best in town- like Joy Youngsor Kao's. Most other dishes are so mild as to be bland. Prices are right, portions are large. Folks behind the counter arestressed and loud- no idea if it's happy or not. Clientele is often fractious. The dining room feels like the waiting room in ajail. If you're feeling guilty about living in the USA, and want to take a quick trip to the 3rd World- 813 Green SpringsHighway. Read more

Return Review (09-29-21): After over a year since my last review I decided to return and see if anything improved. My last year... review was a 1 out of 5. First the pros: Food looked amazing. I ordered the Mongolian beef, fried rice, and 1 egg roll. Beefwas cooked perfectly. I think there's a technique they use to make it really soft, I personally don't care for the texture whenit's really soft like that but I understand some people do. Fried rice was good. Restaurant is much cleaner Cons: Even if youcall ahead you may wait a while. While the beef was cooked perfectly, there was little to no flavor and spice. The dish waslisted as a spicy dish but it had no spice at all. I know a lot of Chinese restaurants lessen spice to cater to America tastebut that was disappointing. I think you can request it to be more spicy. When this restaurant was at it's peak, I would orderthis dish and it was be perfectly spicy and it was not something I needed to request. Right amount of Mongolian sauce just needsmore flavor. Biggest Con: Now the most disappointing thing to me is the egg roll. This place was known for having the best eggrolls in arguably the state. Not anymore. Took a bite and it had no flavor. Pulled it apart and now instead of shrimp thestandard egg rolls come with some type of very bland chicken inside. Final Take: Score is overall better because the food wasat least edible this time but the egg rolls have gone down and one of the most popular items, the Mongolian beef lacked flavorand spice. 6.3 / 10 Update: 7-16-20 Went today. The store looks cleaner. Ordered the Mongolian Beef with one egg roll. Egg rollwas good. Only complaint was that the shrimp inside was not deveined. Mongolian beef was horrible. It had a bland taste and hadthis weird powdery texture to it to it. Took like 2 bites and just trashed the whole meal. Original Review: My experience hereover the past year is that their food is good. Great food, the best Egg Rolls I've had anywhe Read more

My wife?s family has been getting takeout from here for over 30 years. This is a no frills kind of place and we love it. The... portions sizes are great and you get your money?s worth. We love their General Tso?s chicken (I?ve tried it had dozens ofChinese restaurants and theirs is the best I?ve ever had!), the almond chicken, steamed dumplings, and their gigantic egg rolls. They have a variety of bottled sodas to-go if you need drinks. They always throw in extra sauces and silverware. When it isn?tthe peak lunch/dinner rush, the wait is almost always 15 minutes. (Pro-tip: they typically are almost always closed for theirfamily vacation in the month of July. Order takeout a few times in June and tip well! They work really hard.) Read more

Consistently good food. Ran by great people. The Chicken Egg Foo Young is delicious and their egg rolls are the best in... Birmingham. I really like the crispy shrimp, but it?s not for everyone. Read more
