We stopped by Shiver's BBQ for lunch and ordered sandwiches (pulled pork, brisket, and a hickory BBQ hamburger). All were... delicious, especially the pulled pork. It's outstanding! There was also a very good selection of sides, and each side wascomfort food at its best. We enjoyed BBQ beans, hush puppies, cheesy hashbrown casserole, cornbread souffle', and jalapenocheese grits. Each side tasted homemade and full of flavor. Shiver's isn't a fancy kind of place. Guests are seated at longpicnic-style tables with rolls of paper towels and barbecue sauces placed atop. So, leave your fancy clothes at home and justenjoy Shiver's for what it is: great food in a very casual, comfortable setting. My new favorite BBQ spot. The rib platter came with 3 types of ribs and was $25. Took me 2 extra days to finish the whole meal.... The peach cobbler was fantastic. The place looks sketch but worth a visit. Read more
always consistent always delicious. i love the sides...my go to's are the black eyed peas, the cornbread souffle & greens, i... have tried the jalapeño grits and cheesy hashbrowns as well but the aforementioned 3 are the best to me. my kids love the bbqchicken & smoked brisket kids meal the corn nuggets and fried green tomato are always a hit in oir family. the sampler platteris a good share size and a great classic. Shiver's is probably the best BBQ joint in South Florida and ALWAYS worth the driveand wait, the don't disappoint with flavor. Read more
Our second visit here. Seems it will become a tradition each winter season (husband works at Everglades). Super cute... theming/ambiance and really friendly staff. Clean restrooms. Menu offers many great options. Our son had corn dog nuggets andsweet potato fries from the kids menu. Husband had the brisket with hush puppies and corn soufflé. I had the brisket burgerwith cheesy jalapeño grits and sweet potato soufflé. Everything tasted phenomenal and was filling. Highly recommend and we?lldefinitely return. Great little BBQ place south west of Miami. Very very good food. There was 5 different BBQ sauces, all were good. You must try... the cornbread souffle and the keylime pie. Service was great too. Do yourself a favor and go here. Read more
Wasn?t expecting the Brisket to be a chopped brisket. All BBQ we frequent distinguishes between the two (and we frequent the... best of the best in the Midwest and southern states). The amounts plated didn?t seem consistent with other review photos we saweither. My son got a scant plate of burnt ends, the few pieces he got were good. My husband?s combo plate with ribs and thechopped brisket is as shown with the beans was again small potions for plated price. My platter (shown) was the CHOPPED brisketpieces, really wish I was able to try a slice of brisket to fairly review the brisket. Side were good in flavor but many itemswere not available as well as half of the desserts were not available. Would return to see if this experience was a one off, atthat point will update review.
