My waitress never came back, but the other waitress obtain some water, and brought me chips and salsa, and two to-go containers.
Used to be a fave, but they're nickel and diming the customers to death. I get inflation is affecting pricing. Just raise your... prices like everyone else instead of cutting into your servers' tips. They've added an additional 4% fee for paying with a card,(sorry, servers) and they're charging for chips and salsa now. Great for a cash only quick margarita before the movie. No longera family dining experience. Sad to lose this one. Read more
The nachos alone give it 2 stars. However, you have to pay for chips and salsa and for every refill after that which no Mexican... restaurant should ever do. I got the chimichanga and it was so mid. The chicken in it was white and under seasoned like a racistgrandma cooked it. The burrito was also dry and the water tasted bad. Very much an L place overall; would recommend somewhereelse. When I... read the reviews on a place I read who wrote the reviews and I note how many reviews they have written. I'm glad I stopped. Sometimes, and especially being from Arizona, no matter how much you love seafood you've got to give it a break. Don Jose's isa welcome respite from seafood in the town of Homer. I had 2 beers, the carnitas dinner and a margarita and was out of therefor just under $50. But it was good food. Contrary to other reviews, you must remember where you're at. I'm sure a sushirestaurant is hard to find in the middle of Nebraska....well I stumbled onto a good find here. The carnitas were cooked verywell along with the guacamole that was on the plate...fresh! Rice and refried frioles were well prepared. I sat at the barand was immediately attended to when I sat down. Food came out in a decent amount of time and was hot. I'm in town for anotherweek, and I will be back. Read more
In far out Alaska, Don Jose serves food that is Mexican-like. The flavors and ingredients are like adjusted to local muted... tastes. Still, most dishes will remind you of Mexican food. We ordered guacamole made at the table but got a not very tasty goopwith some chips (do not order, make do with the free salsa - ask for the spicy one, it is not spicy). In entrees we had thespinach enchiladas (definitely avoid), chicken enchiladas, crab and shrimp rice, and fish tacos (all three ok). Service wasslow and not great, perhaps due to staff shortage from the pandemic. We also had a long wait standing outside, with no oneupdating us. Read more
Absolutely the worst experience ever. It wasn't the food or service a family with 2 of the rudest most misbehave kids ruined not... only our dinner but other customers. To top it off the parents or lack of parenting did Absolutely nothing but laugh. Read more
