Terrible service. Specifically asked them for gluten free and they didn?t warn me the French fries had a coating. Ordered... baked Scallops and they arrived with breadcrumbs on top. We visited here a few months ago. Once to the restaurant and once to the store. At the restaurant, while the servers were... great, our food was underwhelming, bland, and lukewarm. At the market, we asked the person behind the counter what the freshestfish they had in was. Now, I know that we?re in Western Mass and that all fish that arrives here has been frozen (in fact, mostfish gets flash frozen on the boats) - but the response we got from the person behind the counter was that ?it was all frozen,what do you expect?? and didn?t answer our question. Lobster rolls were horrible and not even real lobster .mostly ground up white fish and a TON of mayo. Meat was not even... red. And it was not cold, nasty warm temperature. My date threw it away. Tasted like a old fake crab stick. :( Read more

Ordered the "lazy lobster roll" for $29.99. This consisted of 4 pieces of dried out lobster - seriously?? You can get two twin... lobsters for the same price! I'll pay for good lobster but this tasted like it was out of the can. So disappointing and won'tgo back any time soon which is sad as I've been going since I was a kid. Read more
Just no. I felt like I was on an episode of kitchen nightmares... kept waiting for Gordon to come out, STG, and he never came... to my rescue. Someone should have told us all to stop eating! I would not recommend this place if it was the last place to eat.Let's start with the fact that they have a twin lobster deal...... but lists next to it "no sharing". Huge tacky turnoff. For 1,who are you to tell me what I can do with my food that I am buying and paying for?! and for 2, I can see this being an issue.. we travel alot ourselves and probably at least a little under half the time, get a meal to share bc we have no medium- eitherwe're starving or just need a little something to get by. Their menu lists "Maine lobster". No. It's definitely not. We ask forclams, she said steamers? , no, clams. She says ok. Brings us steamers with a dish of hot water, apparently to wash them off1st. The lobster was so blah and bland I ate maybe 2 bites. The steamers turned out ok but not what I wanted or ordered. Thesteak was disgusting. Flat and fatty. I think maybe an 8th of my steak was edible. Big waste of money for zero taste orsatisfaction. The food looked good... looks are definitely deceiving in this situation. Read more
Their seafood and lobster prices are always the lowest in the area. There is a restaurant and ice cream area as well, with... plenty of indoor and outdoor tables. No-frills dining. Read more
I'm a 3rd generation to go to Schermerhorn's. My family has always gone here for seafood since it was the original Seafood... store in downtown Holyoke. I love their fish & chips 2+1 dinner special. One of these days, I'm going to try their 2+1 chickenfinger dinner. Love their food and they are courteous and fast as well. Read more
