Playa is one of thr best at the beach area in Hollywood, very nice waitress, the wait is not too long, just have to be there a ... bit early after opening. You have a nice view, if you choose to eat outside , very quiet, I would definitely recommend it foryour vacation. Great food, friendly service, rolling waves. Sat down with my mom and her friend under the overhang for tacos by the ocean. A... downpour came out of nowhere so we moved our table further under the overhang. Staff took it all in stride as this happensseveral times a day all season long. They calmly wiped down the wet tables and took the empty dishes out of the rain. Then thesun comes out and people go back under the umbrellas like nothing happened. Chill vibe, good menu. Read more
Went for convenience with my wife when we arrived to the hotel. It took over 30 minutes for a drink order, and over an hour to... receive our food. Not only was the service terrible, our tab had the gratuity added when we received the bill. It would be onething if we had a party of eight or more, but it was only the two of us eating. Pricy but overall good eatery on the lower-deck pool level near the private beach of the Diplomat Resort. Beautiful view and... great ocean breeze. The food overall was tasty, with a disappointment in the chips and guacamole (stale chips and flavorlessscooped guac), and a surprise in the tostones & drunken chicken (pictured; perfectly fried tostones and beautifullycooked/flavored chicken). The burger was good, but nowhere near worth the $21 they charge for it. The off-menu wings (a dozenfor $25) were also quite nice, with the only downside being a handful of very dry pieces. Great location in the shadow. But it has two major fault. 1 the food is very very generic. There is no surprise here. It is... basically fast food standard. 2 the prices are what you pay for a really good restaurant. I would say it is maybe 25-40 percenttoo expensive. Resort prices. Read more
Great location and food, but not too remarkable. As mentioned in other reviews, the service was very slow. If you are looking... for a quick bite to eat, I would not recommend going here. The food was good, though a bit expensive. I ate the doublecheeseburger which was pretty decent relative to other burgers. Ultimately, the location was nice, the food was good, andrestaurant clean. Located right on the beach in the hotel giving a nice view and atmosphere. Great service as we were able to enjoy a couple of... plates. Had the pulled pork sandwich (Huge), fish tacos, and fish ceviche. The star of the show was the ceviche- probably myfavorite ceviche of the trip.
