I was craving some afternoon tea (it has been at least a few years since) and heard this was a great place! Was able to book a... table for 2 a couple days prior. They validate parking ($3 for 2 hours)..make sure to park in the Hollywood and Highlandarea...I didn't and we ended up paying $22.50 at one of the other public parking structures on Orange ;( Anyway, we got theYin-Zhen (Silver Needle) tea with some honey that we can add on ourselves and it was excellent. Made us feel very relaxed. Wegot the afternoon tea set and since we were hungry, also ordered the smoked salmon sandwich. Everything tasted great! Would tryone of their other locations as well. This place was surprisingly a highlight of my trip. It's different from everything else there is to do in the area, and it's a... nice place to relax or take a break while visiting. It also hosts parties or events for special occasions. Their tea selectionis amazing. I had a great time and the staff is very friendly and helpful. Read more

We just came back from London and missed to eat scones. Their scone is English style and tasty. The cream is good. We appreciate... that they serve blooming tea and we could order as a pot tea of afternoon tea. Only thing I did not like is that the sandwichbread was a bit dried. You can enjoy an afternoon tea at an affordable price. Read more

I don't know where to begin. Orlando is one of the most sincere and passionate men I've ever met. His love for his wife, sons... and tea permeates his every word. I realized how much I'm missing out by not being as vulnerable in my life. His presence andknowledge is utterly captivating. If you think you like someone, you'll find out really quickly when you see the true loveexuding from his soul. The tea selection was amazing and I'll be back to find out more about life from the Tea Master! Read more

Very accommodating. I’m gluten free and dairy free. They had gluten free bread and dairy free cream cheese. If you’re... planning on going, I’d recommend getting a reservation with dietary restrictions noted before hand. Huge selection of tea. Nogluten free or dairy free options for the scones or desserts. But good otherwise. Read more

Let me preface this review by saying I’m - and *especially* my partner who I visited here with - are pretty particular (aka;... snobby) when it comes to tea. Especially when the label “cream tea” is attached to it I automatically compare it to myfavourite tea rooms in Devon. My partner makes his own amazing scones and clotted cream and drinks a cup of tea on average fourtimes a day. We’re extra ‘bout tea! Chado itself is adorable inside and a lovely way to escape off the hectic streets ofHollywood. There’s a whole wall full of quirky teapots! We were also introduced to the insanely expansive textbook-sized menuof teas which (who I assume was) the owner kindly started walking us through. He definitely knows his stuff that’s forsure! We wanted a pot of black tea and decided to give their namesake Chado breakfast blend a go. We also each ordered a plainscone with cream which the owner described as a light and airy whip and not sour like clotted cream (since when is clotted creamsour?) Our Chado breakfast was served in a cute elephant teapot with a little cat on top, the taste of the tea was a touch mildfor our taste (we wanted something punchy so probably should’ve just gone with an Assam) or maybe it could’ve just done witha minute more brewing time. The texture of the scones was off because the dough was definitely overworked which I can’tnecessarily fault Chado for since they get them delivered in. Maybe we got a bad batch? Taste wise scones were perfectly finebut really needed the cream because it would’ve been too dry on its own. Overall I would say we enjoyed our time at Chado notbecause it was a particularly authentic or truly delicious cream tea but instead for the calm ambiance of the place, a briefescape from Hollywood, and for the kindness of the people that worked there.
