Very great food.
Delicious as always!! Brought my brother from out of town with my grandma for her birthday. Steak in a sack was amazing as... usual. Cuban sandwich, cheeseburger, mini corn dogs, & soup were great. Food is good and service was good. They have a good variety of menu options including vegetarian selections available. You order... at the counter and then they call your number when it's ready for you to come back up to the counter to pick it up. FYI, theydo charge 25c for a cup of tap water unlike most places. The Hixson location still has that authentic taste of the original Ankar Hoagies. The Steak Sack and Onion Rings are as I... remember from years ago. Can't explain it, but the flavor of the food and preparation took me back to my teenage years as Iremember when I first started going to Ankars in the early 80's. This was our first time here so we had to try a little bit of everything and everything we got was VERY good. They have a wide... range of options so it's a good choice if you have a lot of picky eaters with you. We had to eat in our car so I can't speak tothe cleanliness inside, but I did see they got a score of 99 so I would presume it is very clean. Best Ankar?s in the area! Been coming here for years! Any time I?m in Hixson I have to stop by for a steak in a sack. Sometimes... I switch it up and get a salad but really everything is great! Also, not sure how they make their tea so good. All of theAnkar?s locations have the best sweet tea! I?ve tried steeping mine at home longer, buying different brands, adding more/lesssugar and it?s just not the same. Same with the homemade dressings. No other restaurant compares! You won?t find a cleanerrestaurant or friendlier staff than the Ankar?s in Hixson. Everyone else should take note. This is how you do it! Read more
