A must-stop restaurant for your time in Hilton Head. We showed up on a busy rainy Friday evening, and waited about 25 minutes... for a party of 2 and sat out on the patio. It was warm, and fairly covered so we only got a little wet. We had the shrimp & wildmushroom cobbler with mashed potatoes, and the swordfish sandwich (catch of the day) with grits. Once we ordered, we had ourfood in less than five minutes- perfectly cooked and at a proper temperature. Amazing experience, incredibly friendly and kindstaff. Overall, the swordfish was one of the best pieces of fish I have ever tasted! Again, I cannot recommend you visit ALowcountry Backyard Restaurant enough! Read more

The place is very nice with live music and amazing servers. The prices are little expensive compared to quantity. We ordered... the soup, the broil, the purlee and shrimp and wild mushrooms cobbler The soup was cold and we had to return it to heat it up.I would not recommend it The broil was good but not outstanding and quantity is not enough for two The purlee was full offlavours but salmon was small piece compared to a 38$ expected dish. Finally the shrimps and mushrooms. The mushrooms flavorwas strong and some loved it while other felt they are eating only mushrooms. But it was burned from the bottom. To be fair wecame in very late so that might be a factor. Our server though was a very sweet old lady with joyful vibes. I won?t come backthough Read more

Great little place on Hilton Head Island. Kind of hard to find but it?s worth the hunt. We shared shrimp and grits, which were... very good. Had a blackened Wolf fish (that was a new one for me) sandwich that was very tasty and perfectly done. Had a side ofMac and cheese which was so-so (a bit dry), was the only negative of the meal. Banana pudding finished the dinner off. Cutepatio, friendly staff. Read more

This place offers a spell it home school chill vibe with great Lowcountry food. We got sat immediately and had a party of seven.... Great atmosphere. All the drinks are served in mason jars. They had a great outdoor seating section with the biggest umbrellaI?ve ever seen. We had great appetizers the crab dip and mussels are delicious. Everything came out quick and was warm andflavorful. My wife and I split the Lowcountry boil and it was superb. Add the candy bacon on the BLT salad was a big hit. We gotthe banana pudding for dessert and it was holiday badges good not quite as good as my wife?s homemade stuff but it was up there.I recommend this place for call dependable into a family meal South Carolina family meal. Could have been better. I had heard rave reviews and received recommendations that Low Country Backyard was a must on my Hilton... Head culinary list. I was left unsatisfied , bordering on disappointing. We went early (5 ish) to beat the anticipated crowd. Wedid. It have to sit for our table of four. Seating is tight and only available outdoors due to COVID ( or so we were told.) wesaw patrons sitting inside. Outside was a quaint , eclectic , little courtyard. There are heat lamps to take off the chill ( itwas December when we visited). The evening began well enough as our server was eager and upbeat. He took the kids order andpromptly brought out their lemonade .l should have known better than giving glass mason jars to a young one was a recipe fordisaster. After a few sips the condensation on the glass made it slip right out of his hands and shattered on the brick pavers. This was an accident but the way we were treated was less than hospitable. The person who assisted, who I later saw was theowner came over and very strongly told us not to move and pulled my sons chair out of the way and told us we were moving toanother table . No smiles or southern charm, just very direct. I wasn?t expected someone to come over and cajole us, but the wayshe spoke to us just put us off. The food came and I had orders shrimp and grits, understandings that was their signature dish. While It was not bad , it just wasn?t my good either. The grits were old and dry , with no flavor . The shrimp were over cooked. The sauce was the one saving grace for the dish. My wife?s BLY on pita bread was OK. Again not horrible , but we probablywould not go out of our way to return. Read more
