went there for the first time a few nights ago. there were only 3 other small parties that were seated at tables so it wasn't... busy at all. as soon as we walk in the waitress looks at us while she is taking an order with the table right on the side of thefront door. then proceeds to ignore us even after she was done taking their order and walked away. other workers on the floorwalked past us. there was no "seat yourself" sign so we stood there for a good 2-3 minutes waiting. we finally got someone'sattention, she sat us down and seemed irritated that we bugged her. when we asked her to read the specials again politely, shesighed. we only asked again because there was no specials board, the board said ask us about our specials. as for the food, it'salright but not for the price. our bill was $55 with only 2 bowls and 2 sushi rolls that could've been one order. we left therenot feeling full. could've had a little more flavor but their choice of dishes are what hilo needs. it's not the traditionalsaimin or only sushi served. i really want to like this place. we will try again soon hopefully with a betterexperience. parking: very limited, will have to probably park along the street. had to drive around for 5 mins looking for anopen spot. seating: limited due to small restaurant area, not their fault cant help it. not wheel chair or kid friendly due tothis. Ok food. A sushi place on an island with a coastal location but serve no fish. The to-go sushi spot was much better in terms of... taste and price. This place is more like a rice with cha siu just in different form type of spot(sorry I misspelled this butautocorrect won?t pick up). Definitely not a spot to go to if you are just craving Japanese food and sushi. The taste wasn?t badthough Read more

Amazing Drinks and Food! I used to come here back when it was titled a different restaurant. If I would cry about anything it's... to bring back the Sapporo Ramen, it was literally to die for! Read more

Food is pretty good. They are known for soupless noodles so if you are looking for a bowl of ramen swimming, better look for... another eatery. Tan Tan Noodles and Char Siu Noodles are so good. Noodles are cooked just right and broth is rich inflavor. Smashed Q is a god appetizer which is only $5 and pretty tasty. Mixed Salad is the best! It?s bowl is prepared welland you?ll surely love the colorful seasoned mix of salad in your bowl. The Japanese dressing is the best! Yakitori Bites isthe best I ever had! Texture is superb and super tasty. The $8 price ain?t bad as they pretty gave a generous portion. You gottaorder this! Customer Service is good and the chef?s are the most friendliest. Too bad they weren?t wearing their mask properlywhile preparing the food. But still I highly recommended you to try their scrumptious menu! Happy juandering fellow Juanderers! Read more

I really enjoy dining here. It's small and limited seating doesn't accommodate a lot of people so best to come early. Service is... consistently good and menu is small but well-crafted and uses quality ingredients. Read more

Prep kitchen, not full kitchen restaurant. Doing their best to impress. Spent about $30 and got 6 thin slices of sushi fish... pieces on a large plate and a salad. Walked out hungry, walked next door to order some onion rings ! -- If you want a quaintplace to impress, one other with slow service Moms the word!. Ok -- Not a place for the hungry. -- Enjoy J Read more

Moms Hilo. Why the name? Because it?s Japanes food made in the natural way. (No MSG ! No way !!) Yuta is the chef owner and... explained it. He says ?It?s Mom?s food.. it?s from Mother Earth .. Mother Nature.? . Good beer menu .. Big bowls of noodles &vegetables - great ambience. Love this place Read more
