Younger; but still friendly and welcoming staff, same great taste, good selection of beers, 50 cent pool games. Cash or check... only, no cards. Been a family favorite since 1979, and families are totally welcome on the north end of the building, near theATM...well worth the drive. Read more
Really great patio and outdoor setting. This place had a really enjoyable summer vibe to it! The cheeseburger was solid enough... and well priced, the fries and onion rings were well worth it too. What a treat! A trip back in time. 1000 baseball caps adorn the ceiling, and framed potato sacks and pressed tin wall tiles... complete the decor. Straight out of 1946 when it was founded. A sign over the grill "This isn't Burger King, you don't get ityour way" completes the sentiment. 16 beers on tap, and a rudimentary menu of mostly burgers. The burger was the biggest I'veever seen, and the flavor of "fresh, never frozen" really came through. Onion rings were great too, a generous portion, and evena little sweetness in the flavor. This is a restaurant located in a rural farm land setting. The location is very rich in history and a wonderful drive. The... Helvetia Tavern has a great hamburger and very delicious onion rings and french fries. This place is well worth the visit andlocated next to the Roloff Farm of little people fame. Read more
What a guilty pleasure to enjoy such a tasty cheeseburger! It was cooked to perfection and accompanied with either onion rings,... fries or potato chips! The onion rings were great, crispy and lightly breaded! I also enjoyed a Shiner Bock on tap that wasperfect with the burger! There were several beers on tab to choose. Our server was efficient. Beer was there within aminute and lunch within 5 minutes! I like the playful atmosphere of the bar! Read more
Home of the jumbo burger! ( The picture is a standard burger). I almost ordered a jumbo burger, but wasn't sure that I would be... hungry enough to finish it. ... I'm glad I didn't. Those things are monstrous! The standard burger was plenty big this timearound and quite tasty. It's a classic style burger with fresh ingredients. We also ordered a side of fries and some onionrings. The onion rings aren't bad, but the fries are great! They have indoor and outdoor seating. A decent amount of parking,but it can get relatively busy . It's popular for a reason! Read more
