I love that this place has sweet and savory items. It's a perfect mix of pastries and offerings with fresh greens and proteins.... Menu portions are just fine. Counter service is efficient and the table runners are great. Outdoor seating weather permittingand open casual seating inside. Interesting beverage selection in cold case. A definite visit again. Very nice place to spend time with friends or family. Breakfast options are great, products are fresh. Busy in the morning over... the weekends, but that just proves the quality of this place. The lake is 10 mins walk away so after you get full with tastybreakfast, you will definitely want to get a breath of fresh air by the lake. Read more

Review UPDATE: After my review, we have been in this bakery three more times. They had ran out of stock every time. In our last... visit, we were there at 2:00 pm. Keep in mind that they close at 3:00. A staff member started sweeping the floor right around usas we were eating, as well as cleaning tables. We got the message: "get out of here because we want to go home." Additionally, coffee is good but at room temperature. It looks like they don't heat the milk. We are disappointed. Suggestions: If you run outof stock by 2:00, maybe you should close at noon. ____________________________ First review: I've been trying to find a finebakery for years. Little did I know that this treasure was just here, in Highland Park where I live. Pastries and coffee areexcellent. They bring me cherished memories back when I used to go for a sweet treat with my parents. Highly recommend it! Theyclose at 3:00pm. Nice and friendly staff. Love it. Read more

Since this info was not obviously notated anywhere.... it's street parking (if you know the area you probably already knew... that). But the blocks are tiny, so if you have to park a street or two over, no biggie. It's a seat yourself place,diner-style. You order and pay up front, you get a number and take your seat. I've purposely avoided French restaurants sincemost are beyond my price range. And I really never had French food, so didn't want to pay a lot for something I might not like.Prices here are decent though. I think this was $10-12? I had a goat cheese tartine (with honey and walnuts) and a side salad. And this thing was FILLING. I love that it wasn't super messy. I just picked it up and ate it. So if you're in the downtown HParea and wanna show a local small business some love, stop here for breakfast or lunch. Read more

This place has great vibe and great food. In the morning it was packed by people of various ages and interests. Families with... children, bikers stoped for coffee, seniors reading fresh newspaper. I loved everything except salads - too much of vinegar andno flavor. If I lived nearby I would have visited this pace every day. So it was a great discovery for me. Read more

My daughter and I had a wonderful meal here. The atmosphere was charming, the employees were friendly and the food was to die... for. We had the trio fromage sandwich and quiche Lorraine. The patisserie was incredible and gorgeous. I wish we lived closer.I'd be in there all the time. Read more
