Here is a bit of a largely undiscovered treasure, just a couple of minutes east of overrun New Paltz on route 299. Luigi?s... Italian deli and pizza offers indoor and outdoor seating. Choose from a selection of regular deli sandwiches or traditionalItalian specialties. My pastrami sandwich was delicious and the dry sausage I took home can only be compared with ones Iexperienced years ago in Italy. I will have to return to try their infused olive oils and other Italian goodies. Read more
Stopped in yesterday for a slice and the chef told me if I waited a few minutes there would be a fresh grandma pie out of the... oven-- I'm so glad I waited because it was delicious! The sauce was flavorful, the crust was the perfect thickness, and theingredients seemed really fresh. I definitely want to go back again next time I'm Highland around lunch time! Read more

A lovely place and convenient drive through. The staff are very pleasant to deal with. The Italian can I is truly the best I?ve... had in ages, packed with flavor. The meatball parm is quite traditional. It?s meatball then sauce then cheese. It does bring outthe flavors in the meatball and I do enjoy a traditional spin on dishes that usually tend to be over saturated with.ñsauce. I?ll certainly be back to try some of their other dishes. My wife Jana and I had the pleasure of visiting Luigi's Italian Specialties on Thursday March 19, 2020. While we have driven... past it countless numbers of times, we had never stopped, though we had talked about it often. Luigi's sits back a bit off ofRoute 299, on the left hand side, not far at all from 9W, only 2 or three minutes, going toward New Paltz. While looks can bevery deceiving from the road, this is an absolute must from the true lovers of, Authentic Old World Italian Specialties. Forthose familiar with the famous " Arthur Ave " in the Bronx......its here. We met Maria, who prepared one of the best MixedItalian Specialtie Sub I've ever had, let Maria make it her way, with fresh pesto, the roasted peppers, and only thier authenticimported Italian cold cuts, and she'll top it off with fresh Arugula, on real Italian Bread. My wife had an Italian Wedding Soupthat was amazing, and we took a few slices of thier homemade pizza to go for later. They also have homemade gourmet olive oils tosample that are amazing, fresh pasta and various homemade sauces, along with pickled Eggplant, and much more. The topper are thehomemade mini pastries that Maria makes fresh daily, which we took a dozen. Totally worth the little ride, and now with havingto do curbside, it's a great time to go visit and have a look at an Old World Italian Deli......by the way, Italian breakfastsandwiches are served all day long. Tell Maria, Scott sent you....Monge ! Read more
