Stopped in here for lunch visiting from New York and loved it! We have high standards for Mexican food and Sofrito really... surprised us by how good it was. OMG. OMG. OMG. I don't have the words to describe the explosion of flavor in my mouth. I jokingly said to the hostess, 'I know... you have a Colombian back there cooking' to which she replied, 'We do!!'. Turns out the chef is from the same town inColombia as my mom! My cousin was visiting and we were both so excited we could hardly stand it. The chef even came out andchatted with us! I told her I'd be back with my sister end of September. First time here. I have celiac disease and they offer Gluten Free food and I was advised they make all of their GF food in a... separate area. But I ordered the GF Chicken and also the GF beef empanadas which was AMAZING!! Everything about them tastedgreat, I haven?t had empanadas in years and I am so mad I did not order more lol. I?d come again for a light bite if I?m in the area. At the house at the front was informative and able to recommend something... new for my friends to try (arepas). I got shredded chicken tacos. They were pretty simple. You can?t go wrong with simple plus atasty sauce. I ordered fried plantains as well. They looked a little overcooked but they tasted amazing. I also want to trysomething new: I ordered their passionfruit agua fresca. It was light and refreshing - not too sweet. I?m open up coming backand trying something new again.
