Harbor One is an unassuming looking restaurant at 788 N Main St., but the food is wonderful. My hubby and I had dinner there... last night....all I can say is wow. The fried whiting, shrimp and oysters were excellent. Crisp, well seasoned, tender and notgreasy. The owner may not have been born in the South, but he knows how to cook collards. Yum. Can you tell I love collards? And the service was excellent. They have lunch and dinner menus. They also serve Soul Food on Sunday. That?s our next visit. Goand eat well. Read more

Above and beyond expectations! If you thought you were gonna get one of those plastic baskets with some fried goodness, think... again! It was wayyyy better than that! A little of everything definitely fed two and we still had leftovers at a great price forwhat you get! If I could give it 10 stars I would. Friendly folks too! Read more

This little Gem was a great find! The most flavorful seared whiting and shrimp. The kids loved their shrimp and popcorn chicken... baskets. The atmosphere and hospitality was above and beyond! We hope to visit again soon for Sunday brunch. Read more

Food was good, especially the fish and mac & cheese. Mac & cheese wasn't put on my order 1st time so I had to add it for 4.50... ???? I didn't receive my drink and didn't realize until I was almost home. I would've remembered the drink but I was thrown offwhen my order was ready but there was no mac, so I had to wait again so.... I guess that's why my drink was forgotten. Read more

First timer ordering here. The best shrimp and grits I've had to date. By no means am I a connoisseur of shrimps and grits but I... absolutely enjoyed the dish. Oddly all the silverware and dishes are plastic. Would I come again? Definitely. Read more

(4.5 stars) Enticed by Facebook photos of their shrimp and grits, I had Harbor One on my to-try list for quite a while before... finally paying them a visit. Unfortunately, the shrimp and grits were a Friday/Saturday only item, and my wife and I stopped byon a Thursday. Fortunately, it was far from a disappointing experience. Harbor One is a small, unpretentious (think Styrofoamcontainers and plasticware) place with an equally small menu, but this belies how good the food truly is. While the Sundayselections add soul food staples such as smoked ribs, mac and cheese, and yams, the weekday offerings are mostly friedfish/seafood platters or sandwiches as well as wings and a few apps/sides. Wanting to try a little bit of everything, my wifeand I split an Ultimate Feast and added zucchini fries. The platter certainly lived up to its name as it included croaker, whiting, popcorn shrimp, jumbo shrimp, oysters, baked beans, fries, slaw, and a few hushpuppies. We were able to get four fairlyfilling meals out of it, and it offered quality as well as quantity. The hushpuppies are addictive and will leave you cravingmore. The tender oysters are the antithesis of every tough and chewy fried oyster or clam strip you've ever regretted and mayeven make converts of shellfish skeptics. The chip-style zucchini fries are housemade and generously breaded. Even thecrinkle-cut fries (in most cases, a frozen product) were surprisingly tasty and well-seasoned. While croaker is something Imight steer clear of in the future (lots and lots of bones), it too had a nice black pepper flavor. The price paid for thefeast ($24) was a steal given the quantity and quality, and the proprietor was friendly and welcoming. Call it the paradox ofsuccess, but Harbor One does what it does so well that it can't help but leave you wanting more (more days open, more sure-to-bedelicious menu offerings, etc.). In the meantime, take what you can get: you'll be happy with it. Read more
