Let me just put it out there that I don't leave very many reviews unless the experience is significant. The food was amazing but... it shouldn't have to wait 45 minutes for food at an empty restaurant during lunch time. The attendant was indifferent andcomplained about how he doesn't work there and doesn't know anything about the food or anything else. No manager around to makesure customers we're being taken care of. Having worked in Miami for 25+ years I know good Cuban food and this was no exception.Tostones were crunchy and well seasoned. Ropa vieja and pulled pork were exceptional. Unfortunately we will not be back simplybecause of the horrible service and lack of leadership having been there twice already. It's a real shame because I know theindustry has been hit hard but this place is NOT the exception. Owner should reevaluate how they handle the customer experience.Recognize people have other options. Empty restaurant during lunch should've been a clear warning sign but now I know better.It's a real shame because the food was amazing. Read more

First time here. The food was good. My wife salad didn?t come with everything it stated on the menu but what was there was good.... I had the cubana sandwich and it was good. The service was not so good. When we got our food, we had no silverware so we askedthe young lady to bring us some. So instead of bringing our silverware she took another order and was chatting with somepatrons. About 10 minutes later a gentleman finally brought us some. The young lady was complaining out loud about her job anddidn?t want to be there. The place is nice tho. But we won?t come back. Terrible service. Very hard to park too. Very smallbuffet. The atmosphere was relaxing and nice, the service was excellent, but the food was truly spectacular. I had the Cubano Chicken... which is a beautiful mixed green salad with grilled chicken fillets and a citrus vinaigrette. The whole experience wasreminiscent of the carribbean. Read more
My absolute favorite place to have lunch in Hickory. The main draw for me is their buffet, which consists of 4 dishes and 2... soups. Each day the menu changes, so it's constantly a fresh experience. Every dish that I've tried there has been outstanding.If you are in Hickory around lunch time, you owe it to yourself to eat here, especially if you like variety, and their pricesare stellar to boot. We just moved to town and was looking for somewhere that sold cuban sandwiches . my husband spoke to the owner and ordered... cuband for us .we also told the owner to surprise us with a few other things off the menu. This is by far the BEST food intown!!! The prices are more than reasonable and you can tell the owner truly cares for his customers and business . Beautiful atmosphere, great food. What more can I say? Cigar humidor with pretty good selection. I have never been to Havana,... Cuba but I feel this is the closest one can get to going there. Cuban music too! Read more
