Food Truck Event. We ordered the teriyaki chicken and mac salad as well as the kaluah pork and mac salad. Both dishes were... delicious and had good size portions for the price. We also ordered the special drink Mango Otai. Too much coconut, and thedrink was too thick to consume with a straw. My husband ended up finishing the kids drinks, mostly because they were 5.00 apiece and we ordered 4 of them. Overall we paid close to 85.00 for our meal. Food was about what you would expect. We had The Salty Pineapple cater some trays of food for our wedding. The food was great and I always enjoy helping local... businesses. I do wish the communication was better though. During our initial conversation in January getting a quote it took 2weeks and sending a follow up email at one point to get a reply. And again when I tried to confirm with them 3 weeks before ourwedding that they still had us scheduled for catering. I had to send a follow up email a week after getting no response. Food here was great. I have zero complaint with food. Guava cake is to die for. My complaint is hours of operation. I guess... I am a grump with food places that close so freaking early, especially on the weekends. 8pm on a Saturday really? Also anotherbad experience was lack of ice for drinks. Its the middle of summer don't run out of ice. If the machine doesn't keep up goto the gas station and get a few bags. We bought 8 drinks way expensive and way gross Luke warm. I love the salty pineapple. I love that their meat is so perfect literally no fat left on it and I love that. The Mac salad is... the perfect amount of salty and sweet. I also love the different sauces they have to put on top of your bowl. Like teriyaki,garlic and more. Really great flavors and such a cute store. Read more
I would most definitely recommend this spot. This is the most yummy place to get some tasty lunch for decent price, the food is... definitely worth it. The pineapple jalapeño bbq chicken is so amazing, and the macaroni salad is even better! I like to take ato go order of the salad home. Make sure to also try the Hawaiian drinks, very good.
