I have been here twice so far since since visiting Duluth for business. Food was awesome both times. But the REALLY cool... thing is that I accidentally walked in yesterday about 10 min before closing. I was turning to walk out because I am not thatguy, but they insisted that I sat down in my same table and told me not to worry about it. Served me while a smile on his faceand even stayed to chat or a few min. That is what keeps me coming back to a joint anywhere in the country! Read more

We have always like Maya but have not been since the pandemic. Many things have changed in the world. I had the Street Tacos al... Pastor. I waited long to order. I waited long for the food. The food was cold, the pork was dry. I waited long for the check. Itwas mid-afternoon. There were a few people in the restaurant. It seemed to me several more wait staff came to work while I wasthere, so I might have been there at end of shift, which would have explain much that was mediocre with my experience. It was asnot enough to keep me from returning and trying something different on the menu, but it was unsatisfying enough for me to takecare in timing a visit next time. Earlier or later, during regular meal hours would likely be a better experience all around. Read more

Updated review: Ok, listen to me. This is 100% the best Mexican restaurant in the Duluth/ Superior area. Serious, don?t even... waste your time checking. I already did it for you. I took photos each of the 3 times we went and it is top notch. Look at myother reviews, I?ve been around the country. This place is the best and it?s in HERMANTOWN! Not Texas or Mexico. First review:Very solid Mexican spot in Duluth area. The salsa is very legit. I will be back! Read more

This is my grandmother's favorite Mexican restaurant, whenever I bring her to Duluth MN I always bring her to the Maya Authentic... Mexican restaurant. They have all of the typical Mexican favorites, enchiladas, burritos, tacos, chili, etc and they do themquite well. The ambiance and atmosphere is very interesting period you will never get bored looking at the art and statues andother decorations while you eat delicious food. The nice restaurant area for eating with comfortable and ample seating. Theyalso have a bar area with smaller tables and lots of chairs for drinking. Read more

The food is fantastic. Tastes like someone's abuelita's in the kitchen with the old family recipes. Service is quick and... friendly. The drinks are to die for. Read more

The establishment is clean and well kept. I was excited that they had horchata. The salsa had good flavor but it was not spicy... at all--I know spicy is not common up here, but I prefer heat. It was also not fresh. We ordered the Maya burrito, birria tacos, and a tamale. The meat in both the burrito and tacos were seasoned perfectly. The guacamole had good flavor as well and theportion size was good. Those were the good things about this place. The tamale was the worst I have ever had in my life. Theburrito was watery. They filled the burrito mostly with beans as well. My tacos were missing flavor. The horchata was subpar andour service was not good at all. We went in while it was not busy. We were often forgotten and ignored. I want to try theirpozole, but am hesitant it will also lack flavor. I do not think we will be going back. Update I had given this place a 2 starrating, but mow I'm dropping it to a 1 star since I can't do a 0. My rating is lower because my husband and I became really sickafter eating there last night. We definitely will not return. Read more

Cute decor and clean, good food, good service. My fajita burrito was so large I could only eat half. My husband had a... chimichanga. We both added queso sauce on top. Read more
