Got the arroz con picadillo and it was quite bland - just rice and beef basically. The other items ordered in the party were... good, though we struggled with service a bit. Over 2 hours being there, we got our drinks filled only once. Overall - check outthe original location if you can - it's much better. Read more

This used to be my favorite Cuban restaurant, but nothing lasts forever. My wife wanted to go badly for her birthday, so I took... her. The food is not as flavorful as it used to be and the portions have gotten smaller. The shank was well cooked but seemedlike it was cooking longer than it should, so it was a little dry and bland. I asked the waiter if they would comp my wife adessert since it was her birthday. He said for some people, as he looked at my hat. My hat had an American flag Btw. He saidnothing until he brought the bill. I asked him again and he said "nope". No problem, I said and gave him a nice tip. Not goingback anytime soon. Also, the desserts are half the size and twice the price now. Read more

The Entitlement of Privilege Arrived in town for a small getaway with family. There are not many locations to eat within the... area. However, we chose Kuba Kuba Dos. Initially we were greeted by a young man who carries a good attitude and positive energy. After sitting we?re then greeted young lady as the waitress this particular night. She is described brown hair wearing a whiteand light blue jumper. Instantly I could read her mannerisms and behavior on her face. I asked the family to speak forthemselves and me so I could avoid her negative attitude/energy. Upon after eating and paying the bill my oldest daughterdecided to tip her. As we?re leaving and at our vehicle looking for the keys out burst the waitstaff with her disgustingattitude waiting to check me regarding her service. I was disturbed by her reaction and politely let her know she was tipped andI am not obligated to tip you more regardless of what I paid to eat out. So, yes I will call a spade a spade because if I wereCaucasian thought I am Bi-racial there is no way the female waitress would of had balls to approach. Since she has done this tous she?ll definitely do it to another! You?re tipped exactly what you?re worth. The waitress is lucky she received a tippedwith her negative energy. I do not tip those with negative attitude, privileged attitudes, or the entitlement regardless if thebill is under $100. Read more

A fun spot with a wonderful happy hour. Tall pour of Falcon Smash for cheap. I love their empanadillas as well (get the spinach... ones!) Hard to go wrong here, but if you're more in town I would definitely head to the original Kuba Kuba over Dos as the vibesin the Fan are immaculate and really make you feel like you're in Cuba if just for a moment. This location just doesn't have thesame kind of ambience, in exchange you get more seating and better parking. Read more

As much as I love the original Kuba Kuba in the Fan, I prefer the larger dining room and plenty of parking at the Kuba Kuba Dos.... Same great menu and friendly service. If this is your first visit, you should definitely try the Cuban Sandwich. It is thebest in Richmond. I also really enjoyed the Empanadillas (with beef), it was delicious. I was disappointed with Braised PorkShank. It was overpriced. The meat was very tender, but lacked flavor. My husband ordered the Roast Pork Omelet, it was filledwith pork and the egg looked fluffy. He said the omelet would be perfect if they put some seasoning in the egg. If you are acoffee lover, I recommend a shot of Cortadito (espresso with a splash of steamed milk). Kuba Kuba has been an iconic restaurantin Richmond, you will have a wonderful time and delicious meal at either location. Read more

Haven't been in RVA in about 5 years and heard there was a second Kuba Kuba open now. Figured I'd give it a try since I always... loved the first restaurant in the fan. Just as good as the original flavor wise! A little slow to get the food out and thereweren't many customers in the restaurant at the time, but wasn't in a hurry so not a big deal... Cool ambiance, our waitress wasnice, the cafe con leche was good and the coconut risotto cakes + the pesto tomato jack melt were great! If I wasn't so full Iwould have tried the tres leches cake since it is so good, but took a pass this time. Not sure I'll go back since I'm closer tothe original in the fan, but definitely recommend it to people in the West End if they're in the mood for some delicious Cubanfood! Read more

I ordered the Braised Pork Shank and my friend ordered the Kuban Roast Pork both were great but our favorite was the Braised... Pork Shank! If you decide to try this restaurant I would definitely recommend the braised pork shank?. Amazing flavors, it tookme back to Puerto Rico as I was savoring the food. The rice was great! I am from Florida and the food taste just like the foodin the Cuban restaurants in Florida. Good drinks, I love the ambiance, they were playing good music?you always want to hear thetropical sounds in this type of restaurants. good service so I?ll definitely come back for more Read more
