This is place is beautiful and the food is really amazing. I would have given it 5 stars if it weren't because they waiters rush... you from the moment you seat. They are barely giving you the menu and already asking what do you want to order. At the end theyasked if we wanted dessert, because my husband had already finished, and we said no so they brought the check. I was not evenhalf way my plate... Anyway please change that. I loved the place and the food and we are definitely going back hoping for adifferent experience. Read more

Kudos to them for 1) the place was well-decorated and had a great ambiance. The lighting wasn't too bright (good date-night... lighting). 2) the staff was very prompt and nice. 3) the food was very "pretty"/picturesque. The flavor of the food was verygood too. Perhaps no the very best we've ever tasted, but very good. The ambiance, decoration, and service makes up for thatthough. Still give 5 stars. Would recommend you give it a try. Read more

Hoka Hoka Fuku hard to say but so easy to eat their food!! We'd been wanting to try this spot for a while and finally decided to... check them out on a Friday right after they opened at 5PM. When you walk through the hung curtains everyone gives a bigwelcoming hello! We were seated right away and our waitress was quick to come to our table. She took our drink order, and gaveus a few minutes... Right away our Sake arrived and she graciously poured our first shots! We were there for appetizers mainlyand I ordered a few. A short few minutes later the appetizers started to arrive! First out were the Pork Buns, Soft but, tastyand tender pork, with just enough sauce, second was the cucumber salad, It was drenched in sauce and sesame! so crunchy, refreshing ad delicious! Third the Takoyaki, they were awesome piping hot and soft and full of filling, Fourth was the Karaage!OMG so good! Crunchy and juicy chicken that was perfectly fried! Fifth was the Agedashi Tofu, fried to perfection, lots ofdipping sauce and veggies! Last but not least was the Cheese Tonkatsu Plate!! Cheese and pork was fried perfectly, refreshingsalad, very tasty fried rice just perfect!! At this point we could barely move from being so full, but we were so happy andsatisfied! Cant wait to go back and try the rest of the menu! Great atmosphere, very clean, great staff, and awesome food!! Read more

This place is a hidden gem. Friendly staff, delicious food and great environment. The appetizers were phenomenal. I had the... ramen, which had a very rich broth and chewy noodles. My spouse had the katsu and said it came with the best miso soup he?s everhad. We are lucky to have this restaurant so close!! A must try! Read more

I've been here two times now and both times food and service have been great. Serve is quick. Tori Katsu was delicious. It was... served differently than I expected (however last time I had it was in Japan). The presentation was far fancier than I wasexpecting yet the crispiness and taste were on point. I loved the pickled vegetables and cabbage. It was good with steamed riceor fried rice. Tea was served in a good peak bottle singles and I wish they served in a regular glass. It's also a better profitfor the restaurant if they made their own tea. Water is free and the best option for affordable and free refills. Read more

Great small place located on 1604 and Bandera. Service was a fast and friendly. Everything was great. We ordered the crab topped... fries, octopus balls, edamame, ramen, and chicken plates. They do not have a soda fountain only bottled soda. We would return. Read more

It?s New! Yet delicious and amazing. This small restaurant is exactly what San Antonio needs, something different. I?ve lived... in Japan for two years and missed the ambiance and setting of a typical ramen noodle shop. Hoka Hoka Fuku creates thatsimilarity and reminds me of those times I had. Every customer that comes and goes the employees welcomes them and says goodbyeas you would in Japan. The food is another story and it?s a good one. My wife and I absolutely loved the food, your gonna wantmore. The portions depend on what you get is enough for one person so there?s no sharing if you don?t want to. Everything ismade delicious and well seasoned. I can?t wait to go back and continue to try the other options they have on the menu, this is amust! Read more
