The service has gone down hill since Covid as has the quality of food. I'm sure it will improve again to previous levels. We... dine their fairly often and notice a large turnover of staff which may be a result of the economy. The parking and dining areasare fine. Pricing has jumped considerably as it has everywhere. Ate here once today. Food was good & staff were friendly and attentive - was really happy with those areas. Unfortunately the... place is a bit run down. Trim broken off the wall with the nail heads exposed, stained wooden tables so worn down you can seepatches of natural wood next to patches of dark stain, and carpets that are pretty worn. I really want the place to be nicerbecause the location, hours, food, staff and prices are all great - but if you can't replace trim and refinish tables (just thewooden edges) when they obviously need it, I question things I can't see - like the kitchen. Do not go here. Just one example of how ridiculously overpriced this place is. I ordered cheese ravioli, which cost $17.00.... There was no meatballs, no bread, no salad, nothing else and the worst part of all was that there was only three tiny ravioli! Icalled to make sure this was correct, which they told me yes. We travel to the Poconos every year, and the Hellertown diner is a perfect stop on the way for some fantastic food. I look... forward to it as soon as we hit the road. We stopped by for lunch and was greeted and sat by Natalie, who was very friendly andwelcoming. She showed us to our booth and promptly took our beverage orders and got them for us almost immediately. Shortlyafter our server, Lydia C., came over with a big smile and took our orders. She was also exceptionally friendly and veryattentive. Our food came out quickly, and was delicious! I had the patty melt and it was fantastic! The burger was cookedperfectly. My kids had a grilled cheese, and an order of chicken nuggets and fries, which I tried, and the nuggets were betterthan the restaurant across the street with a yellow ?M? out front. My fiancé?s order of popcorn chicken was crispy anddelicious! Very very happy with the food and service and looking forward to stopping there on the trip home! Service was horrible. I ordered coffee and it wasn't refilled until she finally came back and I asked for it. I ordered the... breakfast combo and was able to substitute french toast for the pancake so that was good but I forgot to order toast with myover easy egg so I did when it was served but they forgot about it so my eggs got cold and I didn't need them. Toast finallycame out but was barely toasted. Read more
The food was delicious, probably the best diner food I?ve tried yet. However, the service was quite poor. Ordered two waters and... a chocolate milk(for my son), and sat and sat and sat. Before you know it, our food was out and we still didn?t receive ourdrinks. I had to ask the server again to please bring our drinks. I also should mention, I have a toddler, and you know how theyare when they?re hungry and see other people with food first, our server brought our (adults) food out a great amount of timebefore we even see my sons food. As a former server I know that it?s etiquette to bring the child?s food first. He was upsetthat his food wasn?t available when his parents food was. The food was great but service is important to me so I?m not sure thatI?d come back here. Hopefully you guys can better train your serving staff to accommodate customers needs better. Read more
