We had a great experience at The Heidelberg! It was very busy, but we were seated promptly. The server gave us some suggestions... when asked and took our orders. Because it was busy, the food took a little longer, but our server kept us informed. Our foodcame out and the portions were large. Absolutely delicious German food! Plenty of food that it is easy to share a plate. Great selection of German beers. The spaetzle... was divine and they have the best red cabbage. Inside and outside dining available. Read more
The food was good and atmosphere was nice. It sort of had that small homely feel even though it was a larger restaurant. My wife... and I both had the Ruben. It was tasty and they gave a pretty hardy serving. The prices were a little high and you were hit witha credit card fee. That is the reason for the 4 starts instead of 5. Read more
I was impressed with the portion of the food. The flavors were great except the goulash. The meat seems to be so dry that I... couldn?t really eat. When I expressed my honest feedback about dry meat the waitress was trying to say it is how it was preparedand she couldn?t do anything about it. I think she was overwhelmed by the crowds but still I?m surprised she became defensive. Ilived in Germany for 3 years so I roughly know how goulash taste like and they are definitely too dry. Outstanding food, service and atmosphere!! Don't miss this place on your visit to Helen. Schnitzel was amazing. I chose the... tangy potato salad and sauerkraut to compliment my meal. It did not disappoint. We also ordered the pretzel and potato pancakeswhich were so good I couldn't even get a photo in. Apple strudel was also a hit! Read more
Huge Large German pretzel with beer cheese was outstanding. Chicken schnitzel was good along with vegetables which were tasty... and flavorful along with Spatzle. Wienerschnitzel was also very good. Sauerkraut was tasty as well. Excellent service withspeedy service for the meal. Pretzel was a bit overpriced though. Worth a return visit. Read more
Someone told us a out this place so we had to go try it out. The pretzel with butter and cheese was probably the best pretzel... I've ever eaten. The goulash soup was really good as well, very rich and savory. My wife had the schnitzel sandwich with fries.She said it was average at best. I had the schnitzel with cream cheese and chives. It was also average. I mainly gave the placea 4 star because the carpet needs replacing because it smell musky. Also, the service was very slow. There were 4 tables withpeople at them and 2 waitress. We had a good time, ended at The Heidelberg by chance, surprisingly the food was very good! The place looks run down and feels... like they have expanded a few times over the years adding floors to the place as they go. Took for ever to seat our group of sixand to get our server's attention. But the food was good so we will come back again. Read more
