I was a flight attendant so I have quite a bit of experience staying at hotels, and similar facilities. Never in my life have I... had a more enjoyable experience than staying at the tucked away, one of kind, gem of an inn! Margit is the most fantastic,gracious, and considerate host I have ever come across in all my years of travel. She pays exquisite attention to detail, andgoes above and beyond for all of her guests. I stayed here a week, and was able to watch how she treated every single personwho walked through her door the same - as if they were the only guest in the whole place. She really makes you feel heard, andappreciated. The location is phenomenal, the view is gorgeous, and the whole place feels like a cozy cabin. Her cooking??Unbelievably delicious!! I will fly to NS again just to eat her meals. Whether you are gluten-free, vegan, or any allergies --she has you covered. She even went out of her way to make a special meal for me that I ate a few times in Germany back in2014. Seriously the most amazing hostess. The Eastern Shore doesn't have a lot of tourists compared with other areas of Nova Scotia so there are not many inns and... restaurants. Salmon River Country Inn is a great place for a short stay. We had room 7 for two nights and it was verycomfortable (it is the largest room). The restaurant was wonderful. We love the German menu with standard German fare includingBlack Forest cake and apple strudel. I recommend having a drink on the deck while watching sunset over the river. Read more

Saw this place recommended on a gluten free Halifax Facebook page and have been dying to try it! Stopped by on our way home from... Clam Harbour beach and we were not disappointed! They had so many gluten free and dairy free options. I had my first ever fishchowder and some delicious fish and chips. The view was gorgeous as well. Will definitely be back! Read more

Only stayed one night but was very impressed with the hospitality, history, and quality of the inn. Very cute and comfortable... rooms. Breakfast was included and simple but had homemade muffins. Scenery was beautiful especially at sunset. Very happy withthis find during our travels. Read more

So beautiful. Stayed in the cottage, it was perfect. Can't beat the price. Staff were amazing, they kept the kitchen open for us... when we arrived late just because they knew we were hungry. Food was incredible. Love that half the menu is your typical Eastcoast seafood items and the other is German. Will stay here again for sure. Read more

The highlight of our stay was the live music. The room was charming, and the food was great. They took our breakfast order when... we checked in and in the morning they had a beautiful breakfast set up for us overlooking the Salmon River. Read more

Arriving very late, the welcome we received was incredible. We were offered tea and cookies, were given a tour of the place and... our order for breakfast was taken. Breakfast was delicious and warm. This house had a lot of characters. We absolutely loved it.Wish we stayed longer, but if we go back we will visit here again. Super friendly and nice. Read more

Food great. Management issue: not enough staff, so service very slow as lots of customers. Pleasant staff. Plan to spend the... evening there. Our evening meal was 3 hours. We didn't have any other place to go. Read more
