There are many nice things to say about this place. The menu is varied and creative. The ingredients are fresh and high quality.... The food preparation and presentation are above average and the service is great. The standout is the fried plantains - plumpand succulent, fried to perfection. The big detraction was the margarita - whatever they are using for a mix they need to changeimmediately - bitter and sour. The reason I didnt rate this place more highly overall is that the food - from the salsa to theguacamole to the enchiladas, burrito, and rice and beans - is bland. Really, really bland. If you're from the southwest or havespent any significant time there, or just like spicy flavorful food, you will be disappointed by this restaurant. In Haymarket for the weekend and my vegan daughter wanted to try the food since they had something she could eat. Very pleasant... experience! The place is so cute and plenty of natural light - just a pleasant feel all around. The veggies in her fajita wereso bright and fresh and colorful! It was a beautiful plate. My husband and I both enjoyed our meals as well. Our server was verypleasant and was attentive without being intrusive. Will definitely be back next time we're in town. Read more

Nice selection. Very friendly staff. Really good tasty food. Place is pretty small inside. Limited seating. Not 5 stars because... wait times to get our food was extreme. Best Tex-Mex food in the area. The chicken saltado was super delicious and was very flavorful. Make sure you order it with the... side of white rice so that it can soak up the delicious sauce. Staff and customer service is amazing. Food is delicious and high quality. Their Vegetable Burrito was such a pleasant surprise... with fresh chopped vegetables. Most other places use peppers and cheese while Parrando's has squash and zucchini. It was greathaving Mexican food that wasn't covered in sauces. Their dishes are clean and presentable (and even better not in a puddle ofsauce). Tamale Cakes are so delicious! A must try for sure. Vegetarians should be aware, not all staff is on the same page ontheir vegetarian sides. The refriens bean are not vegetarian and neither is the Mexican rice but the black beans and white riceare.
