Came here for breakfast with family. I ordered the gamblers omelet with bacon and sausage! It was yummy. Our server was great.... She continually checked on us and made sure we had everything we needed. The El cap restraunt is always a great choice inHawthorne when you're hungry! Read more
I don?t know somehow i like the food but they goofed up our order big time.We ordered turkey sandwich WITHOUT BACON as bacon... eating prohibited in our family.But they still added and we had already hit the road.So frustrating it was. Read more
Food and staff are average to above average. Atmosphere and decor could use serious deep cleaning and updating. It was smokey... and the air cleaners were not up to the task of providing smoke-free air to breathe. Read more
Been a resident of Hawthorne Nevada for 10 years, I?ve eaten at the restaurant only a handful of times reasons: I?ve burned my... own steaks and they tasted better then they?re steaks, I?ve gotten sick after eating the chicken fried steak..maybe just a flukebut I?ve never eaten one again and to top it off which is the reason I?m writing a bad review..it?s the final straw. Today on7-2-2022 I asked for over-easy eggs with my skillet meal I waited 15 min then was told the manager will no longer allowover-easy eggs.. confused I asked the waitress why? She said she does not know, so instead of asking if wanted my eggs prepareddifferently they brought me scrambled eggs. And acted like I?m lucky they didn?t spit in it. I?d suggest peppers place rightdown the street at least I get to make my own order. El Capitan has a horrible restaurant. Read more
The heavy cigarette smoke didn't help my 1st impression of the place. I ordered Teriyaki Chicken(dry), Clam Chowder(it was Sat,... so was supposed to be Baked Potato Soup according to sign, but nope..Leftover clam chowder from night before, but still decent),and a baked potato (Never got cheese or ranch I asked for, so didn't get to eat my Potato). The veg side was roasted(?) corn-also very dry. Hubby had Chop Steak..he said it was good. Our male waiter was..not great. To the point, we did not leave atip..Slow, never came back after food was delivered, no refills on drinks. I would probably go back to try again, maybebreakfast. Don't waste your money! The restaurant was dirty, the fries where cold. The table wasnt wiped off. And the ground wasn't swept.... And the food tast like it was microwaved. I wouldn't recommend this place. If you are looking for a good spot to relax andfill up. Joe's tavern across the street is clean and friendly, and the food is made fresh and you can watch then cook it upright in front of you. So check it out instead of wasting your time at El Capitan. The very worst service I?ve had in over l5 years . I?m on a schedule and their restaurant has absolutely no since of time. Their... waitress are on a permanent gab session in the kitchen area. We were seated for over 30 minutes and not even served awater. Also, there was only (5) tables of customers, (2) Waitress and (3) servers on that shift. Solution; go to Port of Subs intown. Going South; Tonopah has a verity of good restaurants. Going North; Fallon, Fernley and Yerrington all have a greatselection of restaurants. Oh heck, for that matter, go to the Bar in Mina.They serve after 2pm and are very hospitable when itcomes to service & food. I?ll update you as better solutions arrive???. Read more
